Thread: Positive Bounty Hunter Experiences

1. Jedi have it hard enough. Most of them are also immature children, so I avoid them. I sorta think the grinding thing in general is killing the game, but that's another story.

2. Jedi are Rebels, I am a Rebel. Why hunt down people on my own side? Dark Jedi (imps), I may help hunt them. But if they have any sense, they go and hide in a house.

3. Let the BHs use their droids. They constantly whine about how they won't work. I believe it is the fact that the droids do work, the operators lack sufficienthard drive spaceto use them correctly.

4. Have I enjoyed... Oh yes, have some in my guild. They are not teenage children however. We hunt together all the time. I have found marks for them from time to time, if I happened to be in an area to help. However, these guys are the few and far between of the BH community as a whole. Being on a server that had an entire guild of "BH's" I can tell ya, bye and large they were beanheads. I avoid them like the plague.

5. I still stick by my initial observations - BHs for the most part are immature children, with no manners, who need to be "uber".

I think it would be fun to help keep this game a little more difficult for Jedi. I plan on being able to do that on my own when I master Bounty Hunter and devote the rest of my 33 skill points to Ranger. So has anyone enjoyed meeting a Bounty Hunter and then working with them?

After publish 7 the droids are confirmed to be fixed... they will track Jedi, and they will update with a speed relative to the level as a bounty hunter... if you focus on the tracking line in ranger, you should have no problems, so no reason to involve a real ranger. Remember you are supposed to be a master mark finder, and self sufficient..

I'm sure there's plenty of rangers out there that would be happy to help you out, myself included Killing Jedi sounds like a great time!

But then there's some that won't help you... so, just keep asking, but don't be a dork about it. Make sure you know how area track really works before you asume we can find someone for you.

BH are nice people but then being part BH im biased and i do love myself, personally i dont see what the fuss is and feel sorry for people who get aggravated over a game. Obviously don have anything better to worry about in real life.

I think the people that consider themselves "Anterian" rangers, probably won't get along w/ BHs too well... since there's a huge conflict of interest there. The others.. probably 50/50.

I have area track myself and pursued Ranger to 2/3/4/1 before I decided I wanted a change. I know how to follow the areatrack and whatnot, this wasn't a plea for help. It was a question as to whether or not Rangers have gotten along with the Bounty Hunters in general. As to the Jedi element of the post, my server has nearly three hundred Jedi in it. C'mon that seems a bit excessive for a class that was meant to be rare. The best thing to come from this is now a proposed Bounty Hunter information channel. This isn't meant to grief anyone, just to present a challenge to the high level Jedi that we have seen popping up.

As for Jedi: I don't think it's my personal duty to police the jedi population, and I blame any overpopulation on the process involved in opening the Jedi slot. Also, it annoys me that the only people with the Jedi slot are immature grinders who have nothing better to do but play this game. Especially after the developers promised, before release, that this game would be different from other MMOGs and reward styles of gameplay other than grinding. Also, I am a Rebel so it would be ridiculous for me to hunt Jedi, who are on my side. From a roleplaying perspective, my character has no reason to hunt Jedi. In fact, since the Emperor, whom my character hates, has decreed that all Jedi should be wiped out, this makes my character want to help them that much more.

I agree completely. I don't about about who is hologrinding what, I care that the devs said that Jedi would be extremely rare and they waffled. I would like to see the numbers of Jedi vs Master Ranger (or even Rangers with 2 lines at level 4). Just random thoughts, sorry.

Droids don't work and never have against Jedi marks. basically what happens is after you get the bio-sig from your informant you to into the wild a bit to call down the interplanetary droid (looks like a probot). The game won't let you call it. Says something like that character is not online or something like that. WHen if you add the character into friends or send em a tell they clearly are.

Incidentally it doesn't behoove you to say otherwise when you really have no direct knowledge of the situation. And even more obviously haven't bothered to peruse the BH forums where even a non-BH can see after a little time that droids don't work at moment on Jedi. You call others immature (and there are alot of BH"s who are) but really what you are doing isn't any more mature. A mature person would be sure they were better informed.

As to why go after rebel Jedi if you are a rebel: All Jedi Initiates are Covert Rebel. Can't change it until the point where you choose dark or light jedi. Trust me in this.. there are plenty of Jedi Initiates who are going to go Dark. How do I know this.. because not only do I have the toons in my sig below but also a Jedi Initiate. The Imperial guilds often have agreements with each other to not BH or killthe other guild's Jedi's via TEF's.

So... just because they are currently a reb doesn't mean anything. After all.. any Jedi can potentially go to the dark side ::evil grin::

Anyway I have a rather unique perspective since I have all three toons in question here.

Master Ranger/Master Rifle

Master Bounty Hunter

and Jedi Initiate.

Hi Myth -

btw nice name steal there, one of my favorite authors at one point, a punny fellow

Not my fault your stupid droids don't work. Considering the number of BHs v. Rangers, I would have thought by now that would have been fixed. Oh wait, Pub 7, fixes the droids. Well, how about that?!? Yeah, I knew. My remarks were sarcastic. Next time I guess I will use the /sarcasm command. However, wild durni could not drag me into the BH forums. I had to deal with morons for too long, not gonna do it voluntarily.

Oh, yeah, the droids do work, just not on Jedi. How many BHs have come up to me asking me to hunt marks? Enough if the cheap bahstahds had paid my outrageous asking prices I would be a rich man. (oops, /sarcasm) Guess if the BH community had whined more about the droids instead of getting their neat and cool KMart specials fixed first... but I digress.

And yes, any Jedi can go to the dark side, or the light side, or the sunny side. Big freaking deal. I agree with Calc, who cares? The grinders who have made it to Jedi are to be ... uh.... (/sarcasm) commended for their hard work and perseverance (/sarcasm off). How many professions are there, how long does it take to grind through them? How much time is that wasted ... oh wait, macros ... another fun subject. Never mind,

Personally, I don't give a north bound rats south end what the BHs do. I won't work for one tracking, not unless he is prepared to meet my demands (clue... agree with me and I get more creative with each new demand). Nor do I hunt Jedis. They suffered enough to get where they are at, and as most have to play with themselves...oops, I mean alone... for the majority of the time lest they be smited... they do deserve some pity.

As long time forum trolls know, I can be swayed on some subjects... this is not one. There are good BHs and then there are the other 95% of the profession.

btw, my BH body count is rising....really wish I could take trophies

My take on the BH issue is on a case by case basis.

When I was a BH, I was on the boards and there was a lot of whining and complaining and flaming. Not my style whatsoever. However, ingame, some of the most professional people I have met have been BH's. They use the specials they have effectively and intelligently.

With the boards, I just refused to post and played my game as a BH. When I finally got sick of the profession and the linear missions, I continued my path to Ranger and transferred my xp to pistoleer.

I am not a fan of hologrinding, and I dont really care about the jedi. I know a few jedi who are great players, but like the BH forums, the jedi forums are a hive of slime and whinery.

My distinction comes from the forums vs. the game. Of course, I will take a shot at the BH, our little scout cousins, but when i do, its all in fun and rivalry

thats it really..

Yes, I have visited the BH boards a few times and maturity isn't always their strongpoint. But many of the Bounty Hunters I meet ingame are good people. I'm in a guild on Tempest which is primarily BHs and they are nice guys. I think the lack of support for BH in the Ranger community has a lot more to do with their attitude on the boards than in the game. After all, we have been asking for traps, camps, etc (and just fixes for these, a lot of times) and meanwhile someone will start a thread in the BH forum about how they should get humanoid traps, and should be able to /areatrack, and should get some kind of special camp. The Ranger community is like, "but that's all of our useful skills!" This is probably how the conflict started... but I don't dislike any one profession's players. I just hate stupid people.
