Thread: Positive Bounty Hunter Experiences
I don't think that being a bounty hunter automatically makes people immature, but I do believe that there are a higher proportion of "uber" players (read: immature) amongst bounty hunters than amongst, say, craftspeople, doctors, entertainers, etc. Especially because of the whole "Fett Affect," ie the glorification of bounty hunters in the Star Wars universe, there tend to be a lot of bounty hunters who believe they should be the ultimate force in the universe. Alone. Not all bounty hunters are like this, (indeed I have some BH friends who I get along with wonderfully) but those that are draw a lot of enmity from rangers because they are always trying to get all the skills that rangers have, and more often than should be the case they get what they want.
As for Jedi: I don't think it's my personal duty to police the jedi population, and I blame any overpopulation on the process involved in opening the Jedi slot. Also, it annoys me that the only people with the Jedi slot are immature grinders who have nothing better to do but play this game. Especially after the developers promised, before release, that this game would be different from other MMOGs and reward styles of gameplay other than grinding. Also, I am a Rebel so it would be ridiculous for me to hunt Jedi, who are on my side. From a roleplaying perspective, my character has no reason to hunt Jedi. In fact, since the Emperor, whom my character hates, has decreed that all Jedi should be wiped out, this makes my character want to help them that much more.
Synopsis: Among BHs, maturity is the exception rather than the rule, and the only people hunting Jedi are money-hungry mercenaries and Imperial stooges, neither of which are common amongst Rangers.
