As every one know rangers are good for tracking and harvesting. I have found a problem in the ranger profession. When rangers harvest and make traps or camp they have no place to sell them for good prices. I think rangers should get to have 1 vendor in there profession to sell traps and camps and harvest. With out a vendor it is so hard to make money being a ranger. Does any one feel the same way about the vendorthing???

Thanks,
Uboo

Sometimes yes. But we do have vendors. The bazzars. Just Break your stock down. Or make a friend who is a merchant and borrow one. But most contracts are drop vendors.

I kind of thought a hunting cabin could do this. Like the trading posts in the fur trade days.

Kinda steps on merchants toes tho does it fred. If we get a free vendor everyone gonna want one per profession.

exactly what DND said...

with that reasoning, tailors, weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, smugglers, BE's all have vaid reasons to have a freebie vendor. While, my business will be dead soon with the merchant nerf, (I have 6 vendors) I doubt that the devs or merchant community will support the idea just because we have a good reason.

There is the odd rare vendor who likes to specialize for us rangers, there is a great shop on Corbantis called Field and Stream that stocks all things Ranger, I remember screaming 'ABOUT TIME' when I first saw it advertised. More should do it as we can generate a lot of revenue.

exactly.

every single crafting profession, including doctors and smugglers will then demand to get a vendor as well. and the merchants will lash out at everyone since they have invested all the skill points needed to get the best of the best as far as vendors go.

And coming with the merchant changes you'll need to keep those skill points to actually use your vendors. No more just marching up merchant planting your vendors and dropping the profession. My alt's a merchant and is always willing to work with outsiders to help sell their items on consignment, for a small fee. Merchants are a roleplaying profession as well. Its just that most people dont roleplay it.

Its Cas Stupid board wouldn't let me register my three letter handle so I had to clan tag myself

And while I'm oppossed to us getting merchant perks per-se I'm not oppossed to us getting ways to help make the vendors look scout/rangery be it hunting cabins or special kits to give to id's or merchants to dress vendors.

But it's NOT a vendor. You would have to tell peeps. The storage could only be accessed via a single teminal inside, no custom, no advertising. It has to follow the rules of the bazaar, except, perhaps, the price cap could be higher (up to dev choice).

... or it could be just like the Bazaar. But having a cabin that you could act as a trading post is still a cool idea. It does not have to step on the merchant's toes... just use a little imagination.

I agree with you fred. Im just playing devils advocate. Think about how angry we got when they wanted to bring in the creature harvesting tool. Merchants are already a waste of points so whats to convince them to invest all those points? For me merchants worth it for the 20% reduction in structure maintence. Which in my case is all the guild buildings, all the guildie homes, all our harvesters and factories. It adds up real fast. But other then that whats the point of investing in merchant or especially mastering it?

Again i like the idea and I'd have one in a heartbeat. Just playing the other side for the sake a good thread.
