Thread: RANGERS NEED A VENDOR

But it's NOT a vendor. You would have to tell peeps. The storage could only be accessed via a single teminal inside, no custom, no advertising. It has to follow the rules of the bazaar, except, perhaps, the price cap could be higher (up to dev choice).
... or it could be just like the Bazaar. But having a cabin that you could act as a trading post is still a cool idea. It does not have to step on the merchant's toes... just use a little imagination.
A trading post IS a cool idea.....just not for us. If merchants got things that we all thought we're probable scout or ranger perks we'd be up in arms. Word of mouth gets around and is just as important as the in game advertising to Merchants and in the end people, lots of probably, would know about it.
And a private bazaar is a sort of vendor as it'll be mostly your goods on it and even with a price cap its competition for merchants that in thier current state they do not need.
In all honesty I can't see how this can't step on thier toes. If you can prove me wrong then by all means do so ![]()

also remember, I get this all the time: the request for a drop-off vendor implies that you have to deal with an established merchant and I often am the guy supplying new starts and have to meet them to trade, instead. many, many times on my server this is a euro guy and it's not all that easy to do that. I undercut everyone, and selling on public bazaar won't see the items listed for more then 2 minutes.
Euro guy. I am a euro guy - I just play on a euro server instead thats all ![]()
There's a thread on the merchant forums about delivery driods. I know offline delivery is big on thier wishlist too.

That is assuming they let us have the private option. That could be an item for contention.

Indeed. Although how many buildings or vendors currently in game don't have that option? Any?
City Halls cannot be made private, or charge entry fee, or restrict entrance any other way. the structure management terminal only gives the mayor the option to destroy the structure.
i'm no merchant, so i don't know if i could place a vendor in city hall, but would be nice if i could.

I've never seen a merchant in a city hall. And now i think about it thats because the "Create Vendor" is not an option on the structure terminal. Although you could just create a vendor in another building and bring it with you to city hall if your a mayor and drop it.
that would work.
my template is a bit odd, and not very good from a role-playing standpoint.
I am a TK Master, a Ranger Tracker (0-0-4-0), Politician, and a few Medic skills to keep me alive.

I kind of thought a hunting cabin could do this. Like the trading posts in the fur trade days.
Kinda steps on merchants toes tho does it fred. If we get a free vendor everyone gonna want one per profession.
Umm not free, it's 140 SP worth to get that at master ranger. Or at least I would suggest it be at master. How many SP is Master Merchant? Artisan 0004 then master of merchant? That's less then 140.
