It's almost like Christmas day in here, isn't it?

I don't think I've ever seen so many new posts in this forum over a twelve hour period....

I was a ranger when I first started. I mostly lurk, and rarely say anything here. Sorry, I just got all excited as I was reading the changes.

I'm a forum Lurker myself so no sig but Master Ranger was my first and only elite profession; I have never dabbled in another even when handed the magical respec ticket which continues to haunt my movements around the galaxy. Heck I've has the FS tree open for some time but I won't give up Master Ranger to persue it. Hope that counts for something.

I've been a Master Ranger for a year and a half now. Didn't realize I needed to prove it to you in a sig.

I never posted on the Ranger board before cause it was a solid profession to begin with and I had no questions. I loved it as it was.

Not my point. Allow me to explain.

Rangers (for all intents and purposes this community's regular posters)view Ranger as a life style. What weare isn't aboutbeing Uber, its not about badges, its not about who "pwned" who or what. Its aboutindividual pride, self respect, respect for your comrades, pride in your trade, and sitting around the fire, BSing about what you did that day. For those reasons and hundreds of othersI can't think of Rangersare proud of who we are and ( for the most part ) we display our tags openly. Novice, Master, Re-spec........none of that means jack squat here. Its not a FOTMfor us...........its what we are.

As for you being a Ranger for a year and a half......Great, Glad to hear it, and nice to meet you. I've never seen you around here or in game, how wouldI know what you are? WhenI start seeing a lot of posts with out Scoutor Ranger sigsmy instincts tell me something is up. I wasn't flaming anyone ( I leave that up to JB and Bio ),I would just rather not see this place turn into the Jedi, or Bounty hunter forums.

Groundcrew...

Don't be so quick to judge people on their sigs. You have no idea what toon they currently play, or what professions they've mastered in the past.

In addition, many older players played ranger for quite a while in the early days, but moved on to something else. Perhaps they like the changes and are interested in playing ranger again?

I love reading all the comments, complaining that ranger will become FOTM. One one hand, people want useful skills... on the other, when skills are useful and interesting enough to appeal to a wide variety of players, they decry it as "FOTM" and assume that it must be kids.

And, as a 35 year old PvPer, I don't fit, or know anyone who fits the stereotypical "uber", "pwn" and "l33t" stereotype that always gets thrown around.

Not just seeing that in this thread, but others here too.. assuming that a new breed of ranger will emerge, that obviously doesn't 'deserve' to play the profession because they might be interested in some of the (very limited) pvp appeal with the revamp.

New changes will bring new people, that's a given. All the regulars can do is keep themselves with the same spirit. I'm sure we'll see how it plays out. Just keep the true Ranger spirit alive, no matter how many rangers there are.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Personally, I like it when other folks get curious about Ranger and come visit. Some of us may have that "elitist" attitude, but for the most part, I'm glad folks come to visit. It doesn't matter, to me, what the hell their sig says.

Aye, we don't need this place turning into the jedi/bh/fotm forum where people get jumpd on for not having a cool signature or a Rangerly posting history.

Folk are going to come in to find out about the new changes, how will it affect their profession, would it be worthwhile becoming a ranger now... they're going to come seeking advice and information.

Best way to keep this board like the Ranger board we've known to love and hate is to carry on being the Rangers we've always been. Not some elitist, isolationist reactionaries

(Sorry, couldn't get any more syllables inthat sentence without the use of oxygen, lol)
