Ok, AFK people standing outside of cities killing the never-ending supply of meatlumps make me mad.
First, they are messing up the spawn by continually being online, tho technically absent. Second, they mess up the loot drops. Third, I hate macros.
I have taken to an old trick. Joe AFK gets a camo job as I walk by. 90% of the macroers depend on bad faction, as the thugs are not naturally aggro. The thugs are low enough for the camo to work semi well enough to count. I watched as one AFK got to stand there for the duration of the camo pack, nothing aggro'd him. I felt so bad.
Anyhow, not asking for permission or forgiveness, just wondering what y'all thought. I have on my Nomex, so flame away.
Oh yeah, pretty fun to watch to.

my hero!
I remember somebody doing the same thing to someone grinding CH (pet on guard, near a static spawn of some low-level aggro critters)
I laughed a lot.
i say keep doing it.

HAHAHAHAHA....
I love it. If only we could camo loot containers and stop all the afk container looting.
Rangers ... the Crimson Knights of SWG?

I am so ashamed. Not of you, though-- I'm ashamed of myself. I remember reading about smugglers who run past AFK macro-users trailing a horde of angry MOBs, then feigning death so that the afk schmoe got munched on. I thought that was too funny, and wished I could do something like that. Using camo is not something I considered-- it's brilliant and has the perfect degree of wise-ass. You're a hero among rangers.

Yikes, so they are even more stupid than I thought and can't even copy&paste the "right" macro for their afking. Admittedly the location where it can be found on this boards is one of the places I'd least expect it (a corr posted faq :/).
Fun to do for sure, and I can understand everyone doing so, I can sometimes not keep myself from logging my doc alt to go to theed and then coronet to give free strength and quickness buffs to some people in the tumblecenters err medical centers. The good part about this is that the afk tumblers are not there to see who buffed them (when they get back chances are good that the tumblespam has filled their chatwindow enough for the buff event no longer being in the scrollback-buffer and the others can't tell who buffed the tumblers anyway).

Marvelous. Absolutely marvelous. I'll have to do this tomorrow. Hopefully the poor sap is just letting them aggro them and not the other bit. If its the other bit I'll just have to track a nice group of nasties and bring them by to meet one of my "new friends."
Praise be to those who's ideas I'm going to steal to have a little fun.

I'm not even a ranger, but I was passing through and saw the mention about using Feign death to train a bunch of mobs on top of AFKers and I'm looking forward to doing just that! hehe Truly all of us and any of us that have the power to do so, should declare war on stupid afkers. Great idea with the camo kits!

training a horde of mobs on someone is considered griefing and is a punishable offense, don't do it.
as for the camo job, excellent brainwork there

see, I had this 'friend' a while back who did this thing...
he knew a DroidE who would make him free crates of MSE droids. he'd grab a few crates each day.
keep in mind, this 'friend' of mine was doing this in the EARLY days of hologrinding, a year ago or so.
he'd wander outside town where no one would notice him, then train a few MSE droids (with NO modules installed) with the following commands:
/tellpet force-sensitive store
/tellpet force-sensitive stay
/tellpet force-sensitive follow
/tellpet force-sensitive transfer
then this 'friend' of mine would head back into town, target an AFK player, wander a good 50 meters away, and CTRL-UP the last command... /tellpet force-sensitive transfer.
I heard this 'friend' would go through up to 5 crates a day, with 25 MSE's per.
have to wonder how many AFK players found a strange device in their datapad, hours or months later, labeled (force-sensitive).
of course, _I'd_ never do anything like this. it was a friend of mine.
while the /camo bit is a nice ranger trick, ANYONE can /tellpet transfer to a droid.
