Ok, How do Rangers feel about vehicles? Somehow the vehicles don't seem very Ranger like but they sure are fun to ride. My question is ... Will you continue to use your mount and/or legs to get around in the wilderness or will you break down and purchase a vehicle to speed around the countryside and disturb the pristine wilderness.

I'll continue to use all three. I like Mounts for just patrolling my home city, and getting me out to the hunt. I'd use my vehicle to get me places fast, instead of maybe using the shuttle (scenic route). And I find that once I'm in a group hunting that on foot is the best way to travel as getting back on and off the mount is kind of a pain.

Well, I had been only using my vehicle on TC, but as I needed more animal resources and combat xp, I found myself on foot with my vehicle stored. IMO, I will use a vehicle for quick travel away from a city, either to another city, or to get out into the wilderness where the animals are. They also make missions a bit nicer as you generally don't have to worry about dieing on your way to your mission. I don't think they will make ranger terr neg and camo obsolete, it just gives an alternative travel method.

Unless I know the route is safe, I leave the mount stored and go on foot. It's a butt pain to dismount and fight, or re maskscent or camo. I run as fast as some mounts, specially when the mount has a fat wookie on his back.

As to vehicles, from point A to B, use it. Hunting, will be on foot still.

You should see TC..there are tons of dead vehicles all over the place. Just running a mission, you can find 2 or 3 in the wilderness and don't get me started on the cities!!! As far as working ones, i still a lot of people on foot in the city, so the lag hasn't been too bad. But the TC has a pretty small population, so it may not be the best indicator.

I have a mount, but I mostly use my legs still. I am about to get a DB mount and if it rides better and is faster then my spat, I will use it for the long treks with no stops inbetween.

I might try a vehicle if someone gives me one, but for RP purposes as a ranger, I won't likely use one.

Vehicles = Star Wars. This is a good thing.

I will probably still use my mount out hunting, and like the others use the speeder in lieu of a shuttle.

Good Hunting.

I have my mount and iuse it from time to time, but i mostly find myself traveling on my own two feet.Combat on the mount is a pain, and i much rather be able to camo myself up, then have to keep getting on and off my mount. I use the mount, but i still use my feet as well.

As far as vehicle go, i willend up buying one. It's going to be fun to buzzaround in a speeder, but when i huntand go out exploring i will still use my legs. I am interested in seeing how the vehicles are going to work out though, so we shall see what happens......i just hope i don't see a million mounts and vehicles everywhere...be like a big traffic jam...bah to that hehe.

For me, the vehicle will be a point A to point B thing... I use my mount to traverse long distances and I only hunt on foot. The vehicle is a utilitarian thing since you cant fight on it. Theyre cool, and it fits in the SW universe...I still get annoyed with people riding mounts in cities and i will be moreso when Theed and Coronet become a parking lot.

I travel a lot to far off places, but most of the time it is to hunt, and for that I usually go on foot.

I got a mount two days ago, a carrion spat. I'm still not convinced that it's any faster. (Except for swimming OMFG.) Vehicles... I really want a swoop bike. And I'm hoping they'll have colour palettes, as I want a black one.

As far as how it relates to ranger-ing: it gets me to my hunting grounds faster, it lets me scout ahead for my group faster, it lets me catch up with a person in trouble faster. Thus, I feel it fits with any ranger type you wish to play.

I plan to get a speeder bike as soon as possible.

Not because it helps me get around faster (though that's certainly a bonus) but because the speeder bike is a very Star-Warsy thing for a scouting (or rangering, hehe) person to have. I mean, who had speeder bikes in the movies? The scout troopers on Endor. Haden's interview compares them to high-performance racing bikes.. but that's not *entirely* accurate- scouts don't ride kawasakis through the wilderness

So why am I getting a speeder bike? Because I see my character (in the context of being a ranger) as an elite military scout, and the speeder bike is just the thing for that profession.

While I think mounts are likely more in tune with who my character is, I have a huge issue with the number of pets in this game, so likely I will just use a vehicle until I get to where I will run around on foot.
