Being bored out of my mind along with a slight case of insomnia, and also listen to oldies christmas songs, what area few of you favorite things about being a ranger, esspecially after seeing all the complaining on just about every board.
Mine... i like the fact that i can /conceal and /area, also getting paid for the special use of these skills to hunting parties
My Wishlist.... To eventually master ranger, ive been takeing my sweet time on it, also possibly get my character into a storyline or RP so i dont get bord and can actually have some fun with him.
What is your favorite thing and your wish?
Peace Out,

I like the fact that people still come up to me and ask what a ranger is and are suprised we actually exist, that always gets me laughing.

It's having a character on another server who ISN'T at all rangerly that makes me appreciate some things.
Like being able to walk in the wilderness and not get aggroed by anything but the real nasties thanks to cammo/mask. Took one of my pilots to Dantooine this morning and he spent half the time zig zagging across the landscape trying to avoid fairly low level but aggressive creatures.
/area is amazing, really. Despite the flaws. Hunting talus avian recently I picked up a couple of missions from the term to get started, then headed off looking for devil gulginaw. No sign of them, but I picked up dozens of wild spawns of fynock and rasps just area tracking them. Non-ranger character? Well, he can find the nests, but it's pure luck.
Oh, and being able to check CL and whether it DB's when I meet something I've not seen before.
oh oh oh... and RANGERS!

Its when you get asked by someone "What do I need to hunt for dantooine herbivore meat" that you can not only tell the creatures but which deathblow from memory.
Its going to Yavin being unbuffed and lightly armored and surviving unpoisoned for a week
Its exploring an area of a planet no one goes to and fins a POI thats not listed or at least something thats not normal.
Its doing the never ending search for snow on Tatooine.
Its being on Dathomir near a starport fishing and people stopping coming over to you and asking the what the heck your doing and then replying "No your kidding thats really in game?"
Its popping up base camps, HT or normal, and people just saying "Wow"
Its the friendship you get from your fellow rangers
Its the thrill of the hunt
Its areatracking for invisable CSR's
Its using mounts and knowing that speed isnt the best way to get from point a to b
Its protecting your jedi friends (the ones who care about visibility) from bounty hunters
Before the loot revamp it was using conceal on AFK meatlump killers
Its about conceal and using tactics for the kill
Its knowing that even though you might reply like a certain mutant donkey in the forums your friends will understand and defend you

I like...
- the awesome looking upper level camps and field bases (awesome),
- maskscent/conceal permits me to peg off creatures from a distance without being detected,
- moving faster than hell uphill,
- areatrack: c'mon, is there a better skill?
There's alot to offer in Ranger. I think my only wish would be for people to understand that it's not necessarily a combat profession. You won't be awarded wicked weapon certification, etc, etc... To me, it's like the artisan or medic profession. It's based on skills that don't have to be about killing, but they do improve a killers' skills.
ULTIMATE WISH: A Ranger cape (exclusive to Rangers, of course)... Let's get this done shall we, something like Luke wears in the Emperors' chamber in "Return".

I'd say two things really...
Having other players actually show some respect towards me for being a Ranger. Of course half the time it's because they can't believe I'm insane enough to give up all the skill points. But the other half it's because they know of the Ranger culture, this board, and how most Rangers live comfortably within their skin. I think they're envious of that...
Second is maskscent/camo. I love being able to pull a platoon of stormtroopers into a graul nest and then sit back, have a melon, and watch the resulting carnage.

The reaction you get while out hunting and someone says, "Hey wanna hunt with me? Oh wow! Master Ranger."
That and Base Camps.
That and Base Camps.

1. Being rare! I hate being a FOTM.
2. Hunting.
3. Being a Ranger. I'm a Ranger in every game.
