So while aimlessly zapping tho the chanals tonight I ended up on the BBC food channel, and a promo about some kind of "give men better food habits show". Among the items mentions was bacon butties (or however that is spelled). Of cause I remembered there once was a topic on Chips butties on this board as so with the risk of choking heart docters everywhere ... What is a bacon buttie?

Its a Bacon sandwich basically... what you want to try though is a Bacon and Chip stottie!

So does that mean it is a regular chips buttie, just with bacon instead of french-fries ? That sounds kind a cholesterol feast!
Oh and I really should coma back and bump this around English lunchtime, just to be mean.

Actually it is a bacon sandwich, however a sausage buttie is much better, with grated cheddar cheese, ketchup, and some absurdedly high sugar carbonated drink!

Except up here, where you'd get handed a bacon roll instead.
You want brown sauce on that?
Oh, and to please heart doctors everywhere... a bacon buttie made with grilled lean bacon and some veggie butter substitute in a wholemeal roll has a) hardly any fat, b) less calories than most 'fast food' lunches and c) fiber. Oh yeah, and tastes brilliant with a mug of pea and ham soup....
...anyone care to guess what yer man is having for his lunch, as we speak

you know it's always good to hear about British food when the Crew team starts cutting weight and dieting. Pea and ham soup? I'm much less hungry already! Thanks guys, you really know how to help me out.

Gah!!!
More of this silly british food talk.
Give me a good Philly Cheesesteak or Meatball Sub over a French Frie sandwich anyday.

Lollage.
You're being hampered by your imagining it as a French Fry Sandwich instead of embracing the hot, buttery bread and potato feast that is a chip butty.
Dunno why these soft southerners insist on using bread when a floury roll is several orders of magnitude better.
