grab all of your buddies, bring them to dath.

camoflage each and every one of them.

you run first and have everyone follow another person, so that you end up dragging about 8 people around in a line.

run around dath, everyone singing "Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's off to work we go."

watch as people get singled out from the group and are forced to run screaming for the hills as their camo breaks.

first one dead gets the "chew toy" award, last one out gets a free set of camo and a jawa beer.

you'll level up as you go by aggro creatures and as your friends go by and you get to lead a mini-event and scare the locals.

EDITED--adding the rules...

Rule 1: No buffs, no armor. This is just for fun. leave alll your expensive crap at home.

Rule 2: everyone must be camo'd by the same person, otherwise it's not fair.

Rule 3: if someone manages to survive for a full 2 minutes after their camo breaks (and they have to be MOVING with you), they can ask for more camo

Rule 4: Everyone save their clone data first, okay?

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I take back my grumpiness in that other thread - you are my kind of guy!

The best way to level Ranger for me is definitely group hunts with friends. Forget about the xp you are gettiing and just have fun. I had a ton of fun throwing those flashy traps during hunts lol. I'd yell "FRAG OUT!" and all the melee tankers would yell "Noooooo!" and then shortly after "I'M BLIND!!!!" Mwahahahaha.

Since I leveled mostly back before buffs or crazy weaponry after fights I would set up a FB or HTFB for the survivors and we would wait for the others to get back from the cloner. On Dath I would set it up on the highest peak I could find - it would act as a beacon to guide them in.

In the camp we would basically harass eachother until everyone was healed and ready to take on another spider lair. It was great. All my best blackmail screenines come from those times lol.

Set up the largest camp at your disposal within view of the killing fields right outside Mos Eisley.Chat up the newer players, and train them in whatever Scout skills they might want and emote whittling. I've had a blast doing this on several occasions, and it's a sight more fun than grinding camps for Survival XP or shouting yourself hoarse for Apprenticeship XP.

ROFL!!! Man, Phenix youmust have some very bizarre couplings in your brain to come up with this stuff, I'll definately try it sometime!

On the part of having fun and Mastering, here's what worked for me:

This works both with mission and regular hunting. If you need the money then missions are the way to go (unless there is a particularly good creature resource shift), but for pure xp (and for the fun...) I think regular hunting on whatever planet you are up to (given your combat skills) is best.

I took a couple of friends along hunting and sightseeing, atleas one should be a medic/medic dabbler, the rest probably combat proffs. We group on a hunt, or join the same solo group on missions. Thats optional and it will impact your harvesting, but we found it better as we have some control on eachothers wherabouts, status etc.

I would bring along a little resources needed for camps, camokits, traps, espacially enough of the non-creature resources needed.

First I'd camo them and me and we'd run (mostly, drive a little for the long stretches)around looking for an area with plenty of spawns (this gets easier as you go up the tracking tree). I wasracking in scouting xp on the camo.

When we found a good spot I'd join them for a lair or two throwing traps and harvesting their kills. Then I'd throw up a camp near a lair (as close as you can get) and they would drag the creatures to the camp and fight them there (now be careful not to be aggroed yourself, I almost never was as I was camoed myself and stayed a few meters behind the "tank") while they were dragging creatures into camp I'd harvest the kills, replenish my traps/camps/camo kits, fish if we were near water, and checking on the campstatus throwing up a new camp if needed. The medic would heal people for his own xp, and to boost my camping xp. And ofcourse the combat proffs steadily gain xp as well.

After a while (usually 2-3 camps, the camping xp max out pretty fast when healing in it) we would have to move to a new spot, all camoed ofcourse, and rinse repeat....

If you do missions you will ofcourse move faster from place to place, and at those times I'd fight/trap on my lairs and camp near theirs.

We also varied the creatures we would go for to spot for good resources, and to target specifics needed for traps, camo kits, stimpacks etc. And we took breathers to heal up, chat, laugh, and generally have a good time, if entertainers could heal BF in camps I think we could have done this almost indefinately (10kof strategic non-creature resources in yourbackpacklasts a looong time).

This gives you pretty even advancement up all the trees which I found satisfactory as you can try a little new stuff all the way up (not just a long period of new traps, then better harvesting, then bigger camps), I'm the kind of person that will throw my computer out the window after 15mins of camp grinding....

An added bonus of this somewhat laid back "non-grindig" social approach (was for me anyway) is that some of your friends will come to associate hunting with fun and relaxation, and maybe you'll get ome new Ranger colleagues or atleast good hunting partners that will speed up your kill rate during those realy good resource shifts.

Good luck to you on mastering Ranger, any way you choose to do it.

Cheers,
Jasse
