Very soon, I will have been playing SWG for a full year. I achieved the rank of Master Ranger last November and am still one today. I have told all my friends that I steadfastly refuse to give up this skill and title even though I have had limited use of skills in the overall combat system. I know, from the ideas and thoughts posted here over the months, that the Ranger profession has no where to go but up, as I've told all my friends. I believe firmly that this will occur for us someday. I intend to keep this profession even into the JTL expansion and beyond for as long as I remain here. I hope that we are given more abilities sooner rather than later for the sake of the profession.

How many others feel as I do? How long have you all been holding your title?

Played in beta3, at launch made it to Ranger in December.

Alot of times i thought about dropping Ranger and, (forgive me JB) going to Bounty Hunter. But I would return to this forum, read and get a grip of myslef, or go to Endor and walk around, watch the sunset on Talus. Hunt with my friends, and i would just love it. This is the best profession by far ( I don't care if it is broken). The people here have kept me going and I plan on staying a long time.

I can't even remember when I hit Master(for the first of two times)...

It was back in the mob warping days if memory serves.

I got Ranger just before the new year (went for it right after starting) I reckon, so I'd count as an Elder Ranger too, but I dropped it after 2 months of being one so I could try out more facets of the game. Except for Pikeman and in lesser sense Fencer, I've done every profession I had an interest in since launch. After checking out all parts of the game I could arse myself to do, I went back to Ranger and mastered I guess about a month ago.

I mastered Ranger 3 or 4 weeks ago I think - I only started playing in the last week of January.

There is no question that I will ever change Camby's template; I would like a second character slot so I can try something else (I have this nagging call to try a Creature Handler/Bio Engineer/something).

Started, in ummm, november i think (the day before mounts became available possibly?), was a scout from day one, made master ranger sometime in march, well worth the effort and a great learning experience. Who cares if you can solo some beast in full armour and 'buffed'? Its when you can do it using your natural cunning and hard won experience that it matters!

I'm a noobie Ranger. I started him a few weeks ago. So far I made it to 3-1-4-4. I'm having a blast with my Ranger! WHo cares if he isn't super uber.. little someone else said (about their character) he IS a Ranger... to the bottom of his little Bothan soul....and that is just fun!

My other character I've been playing since launch is a master weaponsmith (made master in October, I hate grinding...period). I can hardly imagine dropping that profession either. I'm the complete oposite of a holo grinder, a die hard professional! I hate it when people talk about their "alt." To me my second character is a complete character just like the first, not an "alt" or "mule."

I started playing as a scout Oct. 2003. I made Ranger in Late December after being side tracked with the Dancing and medic professions for a month. Mastered Ranger in Feb.2004. I have no plans to ever give this up as I worked hard to get here. I firmly believe all good things come to those that wait with patiance.

I Have been a Ranger since early november. During that time I've been up and down the skill tree numerous times.

For a while, it seemed every time I trained a new skill I'd end up dropping it them to dabble in various combat profs for better defense. One time I was even 4-3-4-4 but didn't master before I dropped most of them for fencer. In all that time I never once dropped anything below 0-0-4-0 though.

It wasn't until recently (last month I think) when, after a 2 month SWG break I decided to push for Master and stay that way. I think I did it out of pride or respect for the class really, now I just hope we get some of the long deserved love that we've been looking for.

There are 10 types of people in this world... those who know binary and those who don't.
