Thread: Loot WITHOUT serial numbers...

Well we are supposed to be out hunting the big creatures and the big creatures tend to drop loot. If you happen to get loot, that does not have a serial number, please report it here. Please include:

  1. Type of loot

  2. Location (waypoint) of where you looted it. Please include planet and region if you can.

  3. What dropped it

  4. Your server

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated. This is for Dev use to try and stop some problems...unserialized items can (but may not) cause problems for you.

Just to check, is this for personal use or Dev use?

And, to stay on topic:

1. Geonosian White Cubes

2. Geonosian Caves

3. Crazed Geonosian

4. Eclipse

And these seem to always have no serial numbers.

Oh crap so thats what's up my power cubes!

I looted some white ones the other day from the geonosion cave and they have no serial number or stats. Kinda sux cause I really want to make a nice scythe

Anyway I'm on eclipse.

The white power cubes never seem to have a serial. It's the green, red, and yellow ones that seem to. I think this might be as intended but I listed it above because I wasn't sure. I'm pretty sure what they are looking for are things like the krayt tissues that have no serial and can therefore be used to make schems without serial dependency.

Nemo, I think they want to know about all loot that does not have a serial #. Why would you want to loot the white cubes if they have no stats and therefore no use? I think it is a bug, and they are trying to track it down.

The white cubes are notuseless. If you want to make a factory run of items like DXR6Bs or scythes, you needa lot of cubes (scythes need cores which can be made from a schem using cubes, DXR6Bs need 2 cubes each). By making the schem with white cubes, you can actually get a decent number of the weapons. Using red, yellow, or green cubes will result in a much better weapon but takes a lot of extra effort to make in decent quantities. I think the white cubes are meant to make it so that anyone can eventually own one of the special weapons. The colored cubes are there to provide a bonus, like krayt tissues. Given how common white cubes are and that they almost never have a serial (I can't be sure but I've never seen a serialed one), I doubt it is a bug. I could be wrong (which is why I reported it up top) but I'm guessing thatit is by design. Given how hard it is to get a scythe schematic, I think the Devs are trying to keep the scythes from being limited to the insanely rich. Which is really how it should be.

Edit: I think the bug they are trying to track down is related to items like Krayt tissues or colored cubes not having a serial. The crafting enhancers are meant to be limited use and to provide a small bonus. From what I understand, if you happen to find uber krayt tissues without a serial, you can make as many uber weapons as you want using lower quality tissues. For example, you can use a single uber unserialed krayt tissue to make a schem for power handlers. You can then use ANY krayt tissue in your factory to make those same power handlers. This can lead to lots of uber weapons. And it makes it very easy to make uber T21s. That is where the exploit that they are trying to fix comes in (I think). I don't think they have a problem with items that are not meant as enhancements not having serials (like the white cubes). Although, again, I can't be sure.

I was a WSmith for a while before I decided to reroll and become the Big Game Hunter Ranger/Rifleman I'm working towards. I had a couple guildmates give me a White cube, and I bought some on the trade forumso I could make some scythes to sell and for a friend. The white ones I bought all had serial numbers, but the one I was given didn't have a number. The white ones are just place holder cubes. The various schematics need the cubes, but not everyone can find the colored ones. This allows the weapons a little more variety when being crafted. There needs to be some "generic" models, without bonuses to HAM or damage, etc.

I'm guessing it's for the devs sincenon-serialed loot is considered bugged and can be used to exploit.

I've only ran into it once:

Geonosian solidifying agent dropped in the geo cave (no clue what dropped it though) on Starsider.

Not only did it have no serial, it had no stats either! Now that is useless!

This is important becuase unserialized loot is considered a bug that they would like to fix. One can have an item confiscated if it was produced as a result of a bugged loot drop. I put this in the Ranger forum as we are supposed to be hunting the stuff that drops loot, so it applies to many of us .

1. Heavy Duty leather
2. Endor, random Korga spawns, and korga cave.
3. Korga Battlelord and spiritmasters
4. Radiant

A friend told me about it. He was so happy because he thought they had removed the serial numbers on purpose.

Every white cube I've ever had (and that's a LOT) has had a serial #. I'm pretty confident that they are intended to have serials.

White cubes are not worthless, only people who don't know how to use them well think that. One easy example is they work well in DXR6b rifles.. when you run out of green cubes of course. and as for the scythe I'd only make them with yellow cubes and solidifying agent... that gives me at least 20 higher damage than white cubes and no agent would. I have a hard time getting schematics for the scythe so I'm very picky on what loot goes into them. I'm swimming in DXR6b schematics. The yellow/white cube difference isn't really that large for the rifle (10 pts of dmg is nice but I'd rather put it in a scythe). But that's just my opinion
