Nemo, I think they want to know about all loot that does not have a serial #. Why would you want to loot the white cubes if they have no stats and therefore no use? I think it is a bug, and they are trying to track it down.

It has been pointed out that white cubes are not worthless. I agree...I was referring to the cubes with no stats (I had heard that no white cubes had stats, I guessI heard wrong ). If the white cubes have no stats, do they have any affect on the weapon you are crafting (other than filler, and if the don't affect the stats of the weapons, are they really that useful?).

The white cubes have no stats. They are used in the Geonosian schematics to make a standard item. Using colored cubes enhances the stats of the item. For example, you can use a white cube in a DXR6B to get the normal stats. Using yellow cubes in the DXR6B means you get a bit of extra damage (+10 or so). The normal rifle is extremely useful but using yellow cubes is even better. It's like using Nym's loot to make weapons. The white cubes are the standard, the colored cubes add a bit extra. The white cubes are a lot more common, though (I have been known to get 50 white cubes in a night whereas I rarely geteven 10 colored ones).

This is why I don't craft! Anyway, can you make a schematic for a rifle using the Yellow cubes and then make a factory run using white cubes while retaining the stats of the yellow cube rifle? Or is this only possible if you have cubes with no serial numbers, but are the same color (color is the key to this question)?

Jedi_Titus, with the White Cube serials, are you talking about older or newer cubes? Back when the caves were uber camped, I heard a lot of people mentioning serials. But when I went there recently, I didn't notice a single serialed white cube (with about 100-150 looted cubes in a couple of days). I did end up with a few red, green, and yellow cubes but those all had serials. I thought it was a bit odd but the shear number of them made me think that it must have been changed. Either the bug is extremely rampant or they might have recently changed it. But it is definately worth finding out (any chance the Devs would answer a small question about them, Calc?). If it makes any difference, I was leading an almost full group (people like getting the extra xp from a big group and I like having some killing power).

Rancor Bile

All types of rancors (around the Singing Mountain)

Sunrunner

This stuff should be destroyed if you find any, my guild and a few other prominent Sunrunner WS's are in a battle with a WS who has been using unserialized cubes to make factory runs of scythes under the guise of being a nice guy and making these weapons affordable.

The big issue with these items is if they are used in a factory schematic, you can place and serial of the same component into the factory and it will work. It is used to get large quantities of limited use schematic items unethically. It can also be used with krayt tissue, if you find a high end unserialized one to make uber power handlers with the stats of the uber tissue, even though the stuff you toss in the factory is average.

Do not use unserialized items in this fashion, you risk an account ban....or at the very least, having the items confiscated.

When I logged in tonight and checked my inventory the items which I had originally posted had serial numbers now. I know that this morning they did not have any but they did tonight. I have no explanation so take it as you will.

High Frequency Vibro Motor

Nym's Procurate Lok

Nym goon

Bria

on a side note, that after I loged off and back on the next day the vibro motors had serial numbers, where they didn't the day before.

The cubes are labelled as "Geonosian Power Cube (color)" so you need the same color cube for a factory run. The way I understand it, if you make a schematic using a loot item that doesn't have a serial, you can use any item with the same name in your factory to get the same stats. So, if you find a +100 damage krayt tissue without a serial, you can use the normal +30 tissues in your factory to make items with the same damage as you normally get with a +100 tissue. This is also very useful when making items that need large factory runs (T21s need 10 identical power handlers, meaning you'd normally need a stack of 11 krayt tissues). I've never been a crafter so I'm not 100% sure about all of this but that is as much as I've been able to get out of it.

With power cubes, the main benefit of not having a serial number is that you can get a LOT more use out of the limited schematics. This means that the items will be a lot more common. With white cube weapons, I think this should be the way it is. I don't like seeing a semi-standard weapon costing 250k. But the enhanced versions should be more limited. Whether or not this is intended, it would make sense to have white cubes without serials. It would mean that more players would have the opportunity to benefit from the new content. But it could still be a bug.

For the schematic: If the loot has a serial then to make anything with your manufacturing schematic the components you put into the factory must have identical serials with the schematic. So if you have a lot of 5 yellow cubes once those 5 cubes are gone any schematic you made with them is now worthless because you need that item to product the finished product. That is why the devs are conserned with the non-serialed loot. If I get1 non-serialed yellow cube I could make 1 schematic for 1000 sword cores tha used yellow cubes. I'd have to get 1000 yellow cubes but the serial wouldn't matter anymore and I could make a huge amount of scythes from 1 scythe schematic use with those core. Normally you can get a maximum of 2 scythesschematic use (4 scythes total for the 2 use schematic). I believe the color would matter, but I've never tested that. Make sense?

The white cubes will allow you to make a geo item (cores or weapon). Without a cube (any color) you can't make them. There is no bonus in the white cube... it is just your standard cube. Green cubes give a boost to condition so you get a little more use out of the item, but nothing else is effected, and as everyone knows yellow cubes add to max damage, but they are much rarer than green or white in my experience (not that green is really plentiful). Red cubes are the newest and reduce HAM cost. I haven't figured out where they'd be most useful yet.

My cubes are around a 3 weeks old, so it IS possible that the white cubes have changed. Looks like I need to get a group to drop by the goe cave and check it out.

Calc is discussing crafting!?!?!?!? How did that ever happen?

Yeah they must have snuck in a hotfix to correct this, because the rancor bile I had that was unserialized is now serialized. Good stuff, I was about to destroy it, but now I can give it to this cute combat medic I know...

well get this shiat, if u say had a excetional krayt tissue with no serial
u can make 1 scatter pistol schem
then put 30 -.3 in place of that exceptional tissue and still get excetional stats.
this si a raelly realy big exploit and can be tracked very easily

1. 7 quite nice Krayt Scales (armor segment enhancers)
2. Krayt Graveyard
3. Canyon Krayt
4. Eclipse

Although I suspect the serials will appear after server reset (as seems to be happening with most of the loot lately--they have no serials until the server resets).

All cubes that you loot from npc's in the geonosian biolab seem not to have a serial at first, they get their serial after server restart (wasn't always this way iirc, changed at some point that I can't recall).

The lootpile behind the fire breathing spider though nearly ALWAYS gives you an unserialized cube/solidifying agent/etc that survives the serverrestart if it gives you anything at all.
