who gets it?...

i know, it's a tough category... we're all so damn helpful... i used to covet this award myself, only... lately i've been so grumpy i'd almost drop something comparable to JB's posts (almost... i mean, i've got some aging to do before i get to that degree of grump)

right now, for "newbie helper"... i gotta put my money on Ken' (Almagill)... he's pulling up crap i barely even remember to answer folks questions... and he's even being all super-nice about it...

props to the folks that are helping Owen shape up someranger infofor the devs too... like BioEngine...

anyway... good job guys... much respect...

i'm going to bed...

I've gotta say, that while Almagill does have his grump moments, he's helpful at almost every turn. In fact,I just read a post where he returned and appologized for apreviously grumpypost. And I also agree that BioEngine deserves some credit for really working hard at standing up for the broade Ranger profession (I think he alsotrying to position himself for when Owen's job comes up :smileywink

I know I've been bitter and some of my congeniality has fallen by the wayside lately - I keep getting frustrated with some of the Ranger issues. There are lots of new faces around here but I still think that overall, the Ranger forum is THE best forum around. Active, helpful, and fun to hang around.

/target Almagill

/vote

[edit] I'd also like to give Paks some credit for her hard work, but she's got a fancy coloured name already, so no votes for her on this one

Blasphemer!

Nah, I really just think that they should break into tears about how passionate we still are after two years, and yet they just kept pushing us farther under the bed, with all of the old socks and half-eaten sammiches. Plus, I've been in the field of IT for a year, and I am always doing internet research for my Honors class reports. I just figured that every lengthy post has some merit to it.

I need to find our Ranger CU Feedback thread as well, because that was where many statements were made upon why we should have been considered a combat profession. I am trying to accumulate the opinions of our profession made by those who have been in it for so long.

/blush doesn't even come close to covering it.

Uhm, like, thanks, I think, but seriously, you folk are the best 'community' around, and are just helpful and smart and know ten times as much as I do (which is why I get grumpy and have to come back and apologise to folk cos I'm in the wrong).

Anyhow, I vote Paks for most helpfullest ranger as she's not 'lost it' at anyone publicly, afaik?

ANd Bio!! And all the people that make lists, and turn out to test stuff thats broke in the vain hope that one day we'll see it made better, and whoever invented SWGCreatures

There are too many people to even begin naming, unfortunately. I like to think we all have our own unique skills and we're all pretty good at being as helpful as possible. I mean, who do you go to when the newbie needs a riceball? When you need a hug? When you need a punchbowl?

We're certainly one of the most helpful (if not THE most helpful) communities around and I'd be hard pressed to name a single person. But that's the greatness of our group. We're all willing to pitch in with our own unique skills and flavor. Now ken' is certainly helpful to the newbies without a doubt and should be lauded for that.

/laud ken'ath

Problem is that once I do that, I realize the dozens of Rangers who also deserve to be lauded, including the two current correspondants for Scout and Ranger, all of the past corrs, anyone who's ever explained something to a new Ranger or tried tostop a pending argument, and pretty much everyone who's contributed ideas for the future of Ranger. and that's...pretty much all of us.

so I have to do this:

/laud Rangers

PHE'NIX ANTARUS

BURNING H*TPANTS SINCE 2003

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

Phenix was awesome a few months ago too. I remember seeing his name here all the time.

Bioengine has a JB quality of tenacity and rage to him. I think it'd be funny to see what would happen if he was Correspondant.

Almagill is stepping up to the platethese last few months too.

You still gotta give credit to RancorRider, JBmat, Dariane, Seraphim as well.

For my choice though it's a tie right now. Owen and Vorpaks. They have the tough job and the most thankless one. They get to listen to us wonder what's going on, and then not only to they wonder too, but then they also have to worry about if the profession is EVER going to be viable. I said it when Owen took the job, and I'll say it again, I hope he can hang onto it long enough to see his effort bear fruit.

I agree with Phenix - too many to pick just one. But I will also /vote Ken' because even when he is grumpy he does it in a way that makes you smile and still be happy to be a Ranger.
