Ok who has ever seen one of those weapons in a movie or something where the guy takes out this small rope with a ball at each end. Then he throws it, it wraps around the targets legs, and takes down the bad guy. We should have a trap that does that. You throw it and it gives the target a KD/Root. It would be the coolest trap ever and give a ranger a cool job in the group. If a KD/Root is too much, then what about like a knock down/snare. This trap should also be PvP usuable.

It's called the Bolas.
It has already been suggested in the revamp proposal thread.
Post it there, please, instead of in a new post entirely. It is stickied at the top of this forum.

Dude no way!! Actually I think I sawa little furry guy in a foresttrying to usea bolaonce, but instead of actually launching it at his enemy it wrapped around his head and knocked himself out. HA! That was hella funny! Damn what movie was that? Something about blasters and a shield generator that they were trying to blow up. I think the little furry guy before him managed to get his bola off and it hit some white helmeted dude, and knocked him out, right through the helmet! That was awsome yo!!

I would love to see my wookiee swing a bola over her head.
Or better yet, shoot it from a launcher.
Its not bad to make your own thread - but a single thread is liable to fall off the page, where a stickied one stays forever (well sorta).
I keep hearing about the Bothan Bola Carbine - how exactly does this weapon work? Does it shoot a real Bola or is it just named after the Bola?

Far be it from me to burst your bubble - but -
Learn to freaking spell. "Hear" not "here" "Awesome" - not "awsome"
Then you describe a bolo, a trap we discussed over a year ago.
As to PvP, forget it. Do a search.
Fact is, next time you think about posting, do a search, please.
Yes - spelling does matter, as does necro posting and repeating old ideas.

It was an Ewok that was trying to help out, but instead he didn't let go of the Bolas and it nailed him in the head.

I think the ball/rope thing sounds pretty cool, but what if you could set up a trap like you do a camp? Only you and others from your group can see it, so it would be awesome in PvP. OhOH! And if you could be invisibleto the enemies when you use conceal.

Well, the original version shoots out two Bothans attached by a piece of string. The Bothans are usually allowed near a punch bowl before being fired out and, therefore, can be followed by a nice blaster bolt to ignite the target. Sadly, the use of this weapon has thinned the Bothan population enough that the Bothans are usually left off of the weapon and only the following blaster bolt still survives.

I would like this if it was broken down to melee rangers and range rangers. Melee would whip it around and throw it, and range would have this a a special. For example, much like the modified M4 with the 203 nade launcher, this would act like something like that and fire out one of those to root the target.
