The new system to become "eligible" to become FS seems as though it will be fairly easy for anyone who wants to be FS can do so. I don't want to give away the secret for those of you that haven't looked into it, but without ever grinding I logged in to find that I am just about ready to meet the Old Man by having just played the game.
What I am wondering is how many of you plan on completing the FS trials, and if you are, what you will do beyond that? Will you stop there, give up ranger and become a Jedi, or use your new character slot to again become FS and create a Jedi in the new slot?
Way back before it was revealed that the Jedi path was determined by the assinine hologrind system, I thought it would be best to have the character that actually performed the appropriate "unlocking" steps be the one that became a Jedi. However, now that it's been implemented that way, I am having second thoughts of moving beyond FS. Although the new system is infinitely better from an RP perspective, I think I'm too attached to my character to give up the two professions I wanted to play since before the game launched (Ranger and CH).

I'm going to make my character FS, but I don't know if I'm going to become a Jedi. Right now, my plans are to take my second character and turn it into a smuggler. I always wanted to play that profession, but I somehow wound up as a Ranger instead. This way I can play as both.
Maybe I'll eventually turn one character into a Jedi, who knows?

For the longest time, ever since I realised that jedi weren't going to be rare, I was strictly opposed to jedi in the game. I hated hologrinders and the whole hologrind craze. Now, I like the new system, but it has one fatal flaw in my book. Even tho it is not as detremental to the non-jedi wannabes in the game, it is much easier to get into (even if it takes longer the path to open it isn't very hard at all). What this means is two things, new jedi won't be all powergamers which is a good thing, but in time there will be a lot more jedi than there is even now. With no way to "remove" the jedi from the system, more and more people will continue to play as jedi even if the profession is weighed down with penaties and such, ppl will still do it. Now I have even less hope for this game when it comes to seeing it how I would wish it to be, I.E. not seeing jedi waiting in the buff line in theed.
So my new policy is, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. My new character I am building is currently a novice ranger/novice pikeman and I am one quest away from being glowie. I plan on taking this character to the village and enhancing him with FS abilities. further down the road I intend on making him a jedi.
On the other hand, my first character, a Master Ranger/pistoleer/CH, will soon become a Master BH/Master Pistoleer and I will hunt the jedi with that character. So I will get to play both sides.

Im pretty sure Ill be going Jedi...if not definitely FS...I cant imagine any combat character NOT wanting +20 to ranged or melee defense for a measly 4 skill points...along with the weapon speed and accuracy mods for just as little skill points...very handy skills

For me Jedi is very very far away. I do not think I will make up my mind until I am at the point of either stepping over that line and pick up the saber, or hold onto my rifle.

Just remember the 200k death penalty. Once they get several million xp in the hole, most casual players will reconsider their Jedihood.

As I did my 4 holos at the start, but stopped grinding at that point, I was given 2 FS trees for free at the village. Now I've been a Master Ranger for about 10 months, for me swg = ranger. But I'm curious about an alternative play so I'm going to try and go all the way down the jedi road. However, I plan on cloning my wookie char with my 2nd char I will be allowed, to make another Master Ranger/rifleman. I very much doubt I will have the stamina to make that new char FS.

I like my template the way it is. I can heal, harvest, take down pretty much anything I care to in a hunt.
I have 4 spare skill points. I am using one or more in combat prowess. The survival skills are a joke. It would take all 4 to get any use out of them (harvesting +5 is in the top box).
Probably gonna spread some around, then see what is what. I would really hate to drop Master anything, but if I have to... I dunno. Medic can go but then there goes my healing abilities.
Big time quandry.

I already switched my char setup a bit:
Ranger 0040, Master Swordsman, Medic 2040, Combat Prowess 0004 (I got one free unlock) is what I have at the moment (together with the extra 2 hand speed I already had this makes me speedcapped, 230k dath carn meat in one buffduration was a quite interesting result of this
).
Plan is: Ranger 0040, Master Swordsman, Medic 2040, Combat Prowess 0044, Enhanced Reflexes Master and 3 sp free to put into something I have not yet decided
.
Jedi however is no option for me.

Good idea about the cloning -- I hadn't really thought about that. I guess it would be significantly easier to get a new character to my current state than to redo all the unlock/FS quests again. Although I don't think I could go through the pain of CH again. I am 1 box away from master on one server and 2 boxes on another -- mastering it a third time would drive me insane. Unfortunately my ranger char is the one that's FS, and that's the one that I really like having as a CH too. Oh well, not like I have to make a decision any time soon. The way I play I won't be fully FS until 2006.

well, i got 3 trees free (0044 reflex, 4000 prowess), soi figgured im already half way there. lately, ive really wanted to be a jedi because of the RP aspect. However, once i unlock, im making a new rifle/ranger on my secondary.

Did something change? Last I remember (back in the beginning of the game) the devs said that you would only be allowed one Force Sensitive character per account. And from what I understand, the extra slot doesn't become available until after you have become Force Sensitive on your main character. Wouldn't this mean then that your main character on the server where you have 2 slots would have to be the Force Sensitive one and the second slot would be non-force sensitive?
Also, if you Hologrinded to open your slot, I think it was the other way around. Your main character that you hologrinded with is still non-FS while the second slot that opened up would be the one you have your FS character on.
