Considering this entire skill line is completely and utterly useless, why is it so bloody expensive ??

Ok, hologrinder rant over

I agree with Darniaq, if you just try to grind though the XP solo you will find it incredible boring and time consuming. If you actually PLAY the game with even a small group and just use your camps when everyone rests after battle you will find the XP very easy to get. In fact the Survival line was the first line I finished.

Ditto, Survival was the first tree I finished. And besides, the Devs already adjusted the survival xp once, and as far as I'm concerned it is perfect right where it is.

The Survival XP has been reduced by 25% once already. Was 80k, now is 60k.

Let me check, nope, no one is forcing you to be a Ranger.

"no one is forcing you to be a Ranger."

He follows the path of the holocron... Right off the bridge, and into the frigid waters.

Hopefully the second phase ofthe Jedi revamp will reduce the number of players who don't want to be here.

Until then... Please, move along... Move along.

Yeah, that new Jedi revamp.. Makes me think I might actually go Jedi, someday. This current system blows ikopi... But I suppose it works, and that's what was important at the time; Getting Jedi into the Galaxy.

Im glad they are changing the Jedi system, I want a jedi, but didnt want to grind random professions, since thats a retarded way to open a slot, and SOE finally realised that. But at the same time they are messing up the Jedi by removing perma death, so, maybe I dont want a jedi since there will be too many as it is... I dont know... But Im ignoring my holocron that told be Bounty Hunter, and im glad I did. I can continue on my plan of becoming a Rifleman/Ranger, that I want to be, not because of holocrons, but I still may eventually unlock a jedi, and if I do, well, good...if not, oh well.

In hindsight it's actually not bad, I'm only about 30k from wayfaring IV now anyway, I just needed to let off some steam earlier.

The 10k cap on scouting XP is a bit lame though, and that I AM getting as intended, by harvesting creatures (the maskscent/speeder thing is lame), but I still find that after about the 8th or 9th sharnaff mission I'm capped out again, it's very limiting, does the cap increase with the higher levels ? (only at lvl II in tracking right now).

Nonetheless I'll be glad when it's out of the way, and I still maintain that 150k of xp is a hell of a lot for a line that doesn't really do anything but give you nicer looking tents. If camps did more, then yep, no problem with the cost, but they don't, so I just think it's an awful lot of work for not much reward, if the modular camp proposal gets implemented then yep, cool, worth the effort, but right now, no way jose

Ooh, I never saw this Jedi revamp thing, it wasn't on when I left work and I didn't check the boards before I went online.

This is great, I'm still going to master ranger though, but it means I can go back to how I want to play my character instead of having to grind through these other professions to open up the whole game to me.

Sorry to be blunt, but if you're a hologrinder, then you're not using the Survival line as intended. Seriously. It's a line that is supposed to go up through use when you're out hunting with a group of people that give you the Survival XP.

But don't get me wrong I've grinded a good chunk myself. I just accept that I'm looking to use the system differently than it was intended.

And besides, it's one of the easiest lines to grind. Just get yourself 3-5 crafting kits, buy all sorts of resources (if you're hologrinding at a fast pace, you've gotta have some money), toss up a camp, craft-grind camp kits, disband the camp at 24 and replace with a new one. Rinse and repeat. Complement this with going AFK and have a macro set up a new camp every 52 minutes (since you can't macro disbanding them).

Believe me. If there's a grind worth complainging about, it'd be an advanced crafting one

I love my camps. I don't particularly enjoy camping just to get XP.. but if you're willing to sit for a bit, you almost never have to see a medic. I occasionally stop back into town to visit the cantina to get rid of BF, but with my camps, I rarely need anything else.. I'm just stoked about getting the High Tech Field Base, in about 45k more points.

I went out hunting for a few days to get me a large amount of hide and bone (friends elped me a lot there). Do the maths yourself how much u will need. Then i bought me 10k of steel. After that i made me the first camp i was able to craft. Took a seat and crafted one tent after another. Stopped for training but nothing else. It took not even 4 hour to finish the line. So i would say it is nothing that need EXP reducing.

Just my 2 cents

I agree trying to grind survival XP is pointless, it actually is more painful, just going out and doing it is actually easier and more efficient, go figure, here is a better idea, make more things like survival XP, make it so playing the game works better than not playing the game, what a concept. And i totally agree when the Jedi path gets changed to something that involves playing this game the amount of people that dont want to be here will greatly decrease
