My guild is paying my5 million dollars for each jediI help get the hero of tatooine rings for...

And one of the few Rangers whos happy to do that kind of tracking. If they want to pay you that much. More power to you. Now take the money and get an RIS suit when you master ranger

Tailors and Smugglers make a lot more than that. And I'm sure Doctors are insanely up there too. Don't even talk about armorsmiths.

I was a mdoctor.. they don't make that much.
Between resources, buff packs, bivoli, they don't turn much of a profit.

Talking of being a rich Ranger, on Chimaera, the Dath Avian sells for 200cpu, I am consistantly getting 3k units an hour hunting Reptillian Fliers, unbuffed. That's 2 million credits for 3 and a bit hours work. I am still pinching myself, I can't quite believe it.

"doctors don't make that much profit"
And what game are you playing?
If that's the case, how do they pay for the rare meats I get them? They set the prices, with some nudging by me, but are more than happy to pay 100cpu for stuff I get at the rate of 3k per hour, unbuffed.
The worst part is the novice kids, who have no money. They get free meat, same stuff I sell for 100cpu, but in smaller stacks.
If you were a master doc, and didn't make money, you weren' trying.
And what do Rangers need money for - to support themselves and their weapons habit, clothing habit, and maybe to someday buy a spacecraft.
Should top 13 mil today, if the last two meat sales go thru. And I am steady harvesting more. It adds up when you do not buy buffs or armor.

Yup, by *far* the most amount of creds I chuck upon weapons (buffs & armor are a nearly non-existant factor compared to my overall expenses)

That money they're paying you might be part of their cost for services, perhaps? Profit would be inflow less expenses, and simply because you are one of the expenses does not necessarily mean the doctors are turning a profit.
Still, I tend to agree with JB. I really don't think there would be the piles of Master Doctors hanging out in popular starports if there weren't a profit to be had with that behavior.

Richest??? /cry
OK, so I've got a house habit to feed. Well, I've got to do something with those plots.
Was so broke week before last, went to my local 'tina to get my BF dealt with, felling really pissed off. BF wasn't right up in the silly numbers for once, but it was creeping up. Doctors kept laughing at me when they put buffs on. Nuna's were throwing me on my back and making rude comments about sage and onion stuffing.
Anyhow, I tipped the entertainer what I had in my pockets and apologised it wasn't much. We'd been chatting about the game and stuff in general. Helped her fix her macro so she could change from one dance to another mid set. Y'know, usual helpful ranger stuff.
Got to the starport to head up to Corellia and do a few missions for coin and she tipped me just under 10k "for being a nice guy". It was all she had in her pocket. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry, lol.

The current spawn of dath avian meat on chimera is fools gold lol
Its a horrible place to harvest, almost everything is red and agro as soon as it detects you, there’s also nightsisters and singing mountain clan npcs that agro you on sight also.
In 3.5 hours I harvested 2 million creds worth, but it was no fun at all and i had 1 swoop destroyed by nightsisters who seam to be very good at destroying players vehicles .
You can make the same amount of creds harvesting carnivore meat, lower price but more quantity drops, or by harvesting hides at 40 -50 cpu.
However rangers are most definitely not the richest profession ever, that is unless you want to spend all your time power harvesting on contract, which most rangers soon get bored with.
Good luck with the hero quests. I managed to find the boar by traversing known spawn points and using area track. As for finding the pirate leader or moisture farmer by the same method I wish u luck, I spent a total of 6 days traversing between known spawn areas looking for these two and found nothing so gave up.
The ring is valuable to Jedi as it allows them to revive from dead 50 times, saving them huge Jedi xp losses when they get killed. So 5 million creds for such an item is "cheap as chips ".

They don't ALL make that much, but I know some pretty rich ones! Plus, they can make their money while logged off.
