Just curious... What's your faction, if any, and why did you choose it? Does it factor into your playstyle? Do you hunt for only your faction? From the rangers I know on my server, I'd say it's evenly split across all three. I rarely see any mention of factions on the ranger forums (maybe that's why we're so "civil") and most of the posters here use board icons other than imperial or rebel. So, I thought I'd ask...

Major in the Imperial Army. Chose the imps because i played as the allies for World War II Online for2 years. And i wanted the good toys and to be the bad guy for once.

Rebel Colonel. And it's partially because of the extra FP cost for a non-human in the Imperial army and partially because most of my friends were Rebel near launch. I've considered switching but I hate giving up the rank. And I want an A Wing (although the Imperial skills and ships are quite nice too.....).

I'm a rebel but its been so long since I've done any faction hunting that I couldn't tell you my rank to save my life. I guess I joined because I wanted to be in a faction and PVP or just kill faction NPCs every once in a while and I'm a big Star Wars fan so a Imp wookiee was a big no no.

Imperial, and I mostly hunt for guildies which are imperial too. Core reason for me to go imperial was the fact that my guild planned to play the imperial side long before the actual release of SWG, however I'd probably picked imperial too without that (after all my favorite quote from the movies is from Darth Vader
).
And yes it does affect my playstyle, quite a few rebel jedi probably still have a headache from the headhit3's

Colonel in the Alliance. I originally started out as Imperial, but I couldn't stand most of the Imperial players on my server, so I defected to the Rebels. I enjoy being a rebel especially after the imperial crackdown, because it keeps me on my toes even in the wilderness sometimes! I find it quite enjoyable. however, the imbalance of more rebels than imps across the board is an issue that needs resolving in the GCW bal'vamp.heheh.

I'm a Master Ranger but I've kept my rank low (Imperial) for months. Corporal I think. My character is supposed to be a spice addict and small time thug/tracker.
I'd much prefer to join an Outlaw faction, but failing that, it seems sensible that this unscrupulous outdoorsman would sell his skills to the Empire when there's moneyto be had. Spice is expensive, and the Rebellion's pay doesn't cut it.

Reb... Always liked playing the "underdog"
(played DAOC/Albion for 2.5 years if that says anything about me hehe)
Although, I have been playing Imp in beta, and I love the uniforms

Rebel at heart but remaining neutral.
I was rebel for a day, then I discovered the PvP mentality in this game, so I resigned and stuck to fighting creatures, they don't answer back

Rebel Colonel. Just cause they are trying to change the status quo.
I will dealwith Imperials, but they pay a premium. In the true fashion of a guerilla war, stick it to the man when you can. Haven't done a faction "raid" or PvP in a long time, too busy doing other stuff.
