Thread: Kauri Rangers Need Your Help

Due to the nice replies i have got off this title.. i have changed to the nxt thing i was going to ask.. please ignore the arguing posts.
I have decided to make a ranger/artisan/xxxxxx/xxxxx.. i have just about every crafting trade mastered except Architect and i am now tired of paying millions of credits for resources that people got while AFK so im gonna try it on my own.
Im looking for some advice on the fastest way maybe to get exp for ranger .. assuming some of you might have done it more than once during the HOLO race pre patch 10.
and any suggestions on becoming successful as a ranger as well as a good support for my resource template.
I was going to try TKA as a support because i love my TKA but the problem with that is the teleporting creatures when they decide to run @ 1 hit. would make my BH master ranger.. but he doesnt really have the SP left to do so. I would have to drop all his support and even then didnt much look into if i could master both.
any tips would be appriciated before i do tons of needless grinding to find out it wasnt all it was cracked up to be.

For everyone else (which is most of us)...there's the trade forums, just like it says in the sticky that you were too busy too read.
okay, had to rip off your sig.
anyway, um, yeah. Go to the trade forums. Like every other proffession board, this forum community is designed to discuss issues, relevant facts, debates, ideas and other matter that directly pertain to the RANGER PROFESSION. It is not a trade forum. If you need this stuff here are a few suggestions (for which I will use bullets, in honor of NRass):
- RIN- Rangers Information Network. Most servest now have this chat channel and if they don't you can be a pioneer and start one of your own so that you can get in touch with the Rangers. to join RIN (or create it) simply type /chat join RIN. Then go /rin Hi! If someone replies, you've joined the channel and can do your business as you please
- The Search function- Yes, it is usefull. Using the people page (CTRL+P) and selecting the "search" tab allows you to search for a player of a specific proffession. Lo and behold, Ranger is among the proffessions you can search for. It will locate any Ranger on the planet. Send them a tell and talk to them.
- There is a list of Rangers by Galaxies. Do not contact them there, but read the thread, find players from Kauri and get in touch with them in private on your own time
- Finally- The Trade Forums. It's where commerce happens. It's just the best place to go to hire a Ranger. A lot of Rangers go there looking for contracts so you're better off posting it there.
Now I may have come off a bit harsh and I'll explain why: You're not the first one to pull this stunt. We get about 5-10 posts a week from people who think it's a good idea to post a request for a product in a non-trade forum. It isn't. It fills our board with posts that are useless. For the most part the only responces you'll get to this are people telling you to go to the trade forums. I assure you there is very little upside to trying to use a proffession board in the same way that you would a trade board. I don't try to sell my avain meat in the doctor forum because I know that their forum is where they go to get AWAY from others and try to internalize and focus on issues. The same is true for me. You're using one of a limitied number of spots on the front page, dropping a potentially good post so that we can hunt for you? It's rude in my opinion. The other thing is that we've been so annoyed by people doing this recently, we added a "This is nota trade forum" thread...and stickied it too the top. The fact that you breazed by it makes it even worse.
Anyway, I don't want to come off as too angry. It's not the end of the world, of course. But you'll catch more Rangers by posting things where they should go then you will by putting trade posts on our board. I personally boycott anyone who requests meat/hide/service of any kind in the Ranger Forum, as a way to balance out the universe. I hope for your sake that other Rangers don't take these measures, but the point still stands- trade forums are for trade, Ranger forums are for Ranger issues.

Join the rest of the folks looking for a supply. AFK Spam at Coronet Space port and join my ignore list.
This isn't a reply to your offer, I've been killing birds for the past week and I'm done with it.

Well first off just like to say thank you for being so straight up rude to someone that has obviously never posted on this forums before. Rangers apparentlty are the highest rank on the list of people in any profession i have had the unpleasent experiance in trying to deal with. Second i was offering 150cpu for this stuff so as you said i did win quite a few rangers off this posting as opposed to trying on the trade forums where the only views you even get are replied as "this is a trade forum not a place for job hunting or postings" so not everyone is happy with w/e forum it gets posted in theres gonna be complaints. If you dont like what im asking for dont reply... instead you feel the need to try and what.... get me upset... send me to another forum... something im not quite sure anyway its a game get over it.
To anyone that reads this and actualy has any kind of dignity or respect unlike these previous posters and i have in some way offended you by posting this i am quite sorry as it was not ment to be taken that way. I have never had a problem with anyone coming into the ArmorSmith, TKA, WeaponSmith, Doctor, Bio-Engineer, Droid Engineer, or Chef forums and asking for help related to somthing that involved that profession but was not directly discussing that profession, but not everyone (obviously) thinks so.
As i said before to anyone unlike these guys here thatfeel the need to flame someone offering to pay for some help, i am sorry, if someone that tries to hold a bit more self-respect in there image would have kindly... or does kindly.. ask me to remove this post i will do so. Untill that time comes flammers i am sorry but i will continue to bump this post as i do not deal with your kind.

It's no more rude than the fact that you ignored the " This is not a Trade Forum! Please do not solicit the services of a Ranger here!!!" sticky. It's perfectly clear, so maybe you could show us some respect and take notice of it.

Quite simply, it does matter since it fills up the profession forums with what is basically spam. Imagine if they allowed the WS to be used as a trade forum. How do you think that would affect the normal discussion over there? There is a reason why they made the Galaxy Trade Forums.

well forgive me for not seeing the sticky as you can see if you look into my past posts i have not done this once before.
I am connected @work on dial up and dont take much time to read posts i take this time to post what i forgot the night before cause the connection is so horribly slow. I will remove this soon as the internet explorer stops crashing

by the way...I feel the need to say something...I didn't flame.
I was upset, yes. But I didn't insult you, call you names or anything like that. I gave you suggestions about where to go and offered you luck with finding a Ranger. I simply told you that this is not the place for sales. It isn't. and if you've gotten replies...that's fine.
As for us being the worst you've ever dealt with, I must complement you on your choice of forums then. Because I've traveled around this community a bit and I've seen a lot worse things. Nobody here called you any names. No one said anything about your family members or threatened you in game. We, despite dealing with similarly rude posts, were actually fairly contained.
If you think what I said what a flame, I suggest you go post a similar thread on the BH boards and see how quickly you're trying to respond to 30 people who've just called you a *blanking* noob.

Rangers have a reputation for being the most helpful, level headed and, well, cool profession around. Lets try and keep it that way, despite the temptation.

and sanca you act as if i am in the wrong for posting like i posted it just to piss of rangers (CALM DOWN) why do people get so upset about whats on what forum you act as if its against the law and its YOUR forum. If it was not allowed then you could report me to moderators and get it removed as such it my free will to leave it bump it or remove it and not post again.
and calc you wouldnt believe how many people post asking for WTB this armor where can i buy that armor and 1001 AS posting there vendors on there. It becomes nothing more than nubs trying to get some attention and those of us better known or not wanting to be seen as a flammer ignoring them.
and i posted basically for the same reason that sphyer did.. i would figure that on the ranger forum i could find a ranger.... if i had posted i need help from a ranger could you please contact me IG if youdbe willing have made a differance than me asking for avain? its technically not offering money.. therefore not "trading" but i assume (as i have been told this once before) that people flame because they are jealous or want attention nothing more not because its there morals or anything of that nature but just to have a reason to complain. (makes for people that quickly become outcasts of the more respectfull (and larger ) group. There would be not a single person in the PA im in that would act in such a way or take being treated in such a way.
If it would make you feel better i will change my post to just asking for help... not offering payment and such as then i would not be "defying" the sticky.

Almagill i thank you for your post. As you see what i am trying (although am slightly upset) so say as nice as i can. If you were the one that had originally posted this discussion would have never happed and im glad that i atleast heard from one respectfull Ranger here.

I can't see anything in my reply that indicates i need to calm down. I was just stating that if you had any respect for us you would read the Not A Trade Forum sticky and not post a trade request here. I'm not 'upset' as you claim, but it's annoying to see good constructive posts being shoved off the front page by trade requests. Tbh, it basically is our forum. It's made for rangers to discuss things relevant to the ranger profession and hang out with likeminded rangers. Not for everyone and their father to post resource/tracking requests.
