Thread: JBs latest rant, enough is enough
That being said, I see the same freaking posts from different freaking noobs, asking for stuff to be "enhanced" with this and that.
I agree that something needs to be done. Have a look atthis thread and see what you think.Getting the support of the crafting community will probably be more effective than having all of us complain (we are heavily outnumbered but this would greatly amplify our voice). Let us usea more tactical approach thanyouwould expect from a BH.If we can do this without losing our cool then it will be an example to the rest of the forums. And who wouldn't like to see an end to all the whining?
Send TH a PM letting him know things are not right. But don't pester him. There is nothing stoppinghim from adding you to ignore or just deleting some of your messages if you interfere with his work. I have sent TH a PM asking him to have a look. The message claims that it was read but I did not get a response (nor was I expecting one). Without a correspondent, we can't get information from a Dev without the rest of forums following the post and flaming away. Please don't torture him. We need his help.
What kills me the most is that a bunch of stuff was promised to us by the powers that be a while back. A whole honking list of em, couple months after the game went live.
Remember /track?
Remember the new camps that were in development?
Remember the new traps they were working on?
Remeber when we had hope that rangers would actually be more than a glorified scout?
Greenmarine was putting together a few neat things for us. Then the devs remembered that they only have 2 programmers working on this entire game and pulled him off to work on other things.
Promises were made. Promises were forgotten. Hopefully they'll get back to us by 2008 or so.
I really, really want to be a ranger, but there just isn't any reason.
Gang,
I'm ever the optimist, and I hope that I'm wrong here, but I'll be dead honest with you guys:
We're not the priority. They've got a lot of bigger fish to fry, and professions in general are not it right now.
I hope you guys get a correspondent soon, because I can't hold back the flood of unhappiness if you guys start raving. I'm sorry. I just don't think there is anything we can do at this point except be patient.

JB is right, this is crap. We deserve what we've been promised. I've been defending ranger for awhile, wanting to achieve for weeks, trying not to grind it and make the profession seem monotonous. As of todayI am 4244 and I find myself trying to think of a reason why I should finish out the last 2 boxes of frontiering. For a bigger camp that has absolutely no use? Hell, why did I even do the wayfaring branch? Camo is worthless and it's just easier to get up, walk to where you want to go, and takecover again. The crawl speed boost isn't that great. And the trapping branch....oh, the trapping branch. Well, my traps hit a bit more often now, too bad they're scout traps. Phencacine Darts, adhesive mesh and glow-wire are the only traps worth making. Rescue? What the hell is that anyway? The person you're trying to save has to be peaced and running for their life, so you can call the enemy over to come kill you? As for tracking, it's bugged, and the harvesting bonus...ugh, Im sorry I even mentioned that. Im going to master ranger if for no reason other than the badge. I'll try to ride it out until the next publish where hopefully the dev's will acknowledge that we are even a profession. If nothing's happened by then I'll move on to a useful skill, like Squad Leader >_>

The answer is clear I have 2 SOE SWG Accounts. And in the next few months I'm gonna try out City of Heros, and Worlds of Warcraft. and gonna have to ask myself Is the caliber of BS I get From Sony worth my time and money anymore. We pay $15 dollars a month to beta test a game. oh boy if I wait just a few months more maybe they'll work on things that have been promising Since AUGUST!! of course they will onlly fix us if the flavor of the month classes are happy so not F'N Likely.

OK boys and girls - JB has a case of the azz.
Rangers are broke. Our camps suck and have never worked, our traps don't work for spit, areatrack is borked up, we harvest only marginally better than a Novice Scout, our combat benefits for making Master are mainly non-existant and slanted totally for Riflemen (that crawling speed)... I could go on but y'all catch my drift.

It is time to make a stand. We need our stuff fixed so it works as advertised, as promised by the Devs, as stated in the game guide.
We need to get together on this. It has been months since we got anything we wanted. Oh freaking lovely, I can look at a creature and tell his class even if made by a BE --- WHO CARES?? We can milk, BIG FREAKING DEAL.
I have had it, I truly have. I want my stuff to work like it is supposed to. We have been patient long enough. Wookies get armor - wow, that was a tough program change. How tough would it be to boost our harvest - I am guessing 4 lines of code at worst, possible as little as one freaking statement.
Not gonna quit, not gonna pout. I am already on strike, unless it benefits me financially to not be. What I am gonna do is start writing letters to TH, asking for us to be fixed. Just the small stuff. One lettera day, every day. Until it is done. How long can he last if we all start asking, nicely now, for what we have to be fixed?
While I agree for the most part with everything you said above, I certainly hope that you were not referring to me in the sentence below. I won't respond any further on this until I get clarification. I am not trying to start an argument here, but I am thoroughly disgusted with the attitudes of some people onthis forumsaying,"It'sa stupid idea, now shut up and get back in line with the rest of us." Those that are truly new to this board are going to be afraid to post any potentially good ideas on here when some members of the community take the sort of stance as seen below.
Oh yeah, those noobs with the letters saying lets add this and lets add that - this is your warning to read the forum first, and then again, before proposing any stupd stuff, or you best buy you some Nomex and Kevlar.
you do what you think is correct.

I have no idea how the devs set their priorities sometimes.
Some are obvious. Combat balance, GCW, fixing bugs......most of these types of things make perfect sense.
Chefs complained how bugged/useless they were, they revamped chefs. Completely understandable.
Wookies complained about not having armor constantly in every forum and every thread, they are giving wookies armor. Umm.....ok I guess. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.
Out of nowhere they are revamping Image Designer. Huh....what? I musta missed the huge cry from the community to revamp image designers the devs obviously heard.
Out of nowhere they revamped junk dealers. Junk dealers? People use junk dealers???????
Squad leaders are completely borked and unused and have been complaining since launch. Not a thing has been done about them yet. If any profession has been ignore more than rangers it's them.
Sometimes I think they have a dart board with different priorities written on paper tacked up to it. They throw a dart to see where it lands and go after that issue.
Yep, and most of the time, they miss the board, bounces off the wall, and lands on their pay charts. Or every once and a while, they miss, it goes through the window, and pierces the power cables feeding the servers. Go figure
