Thread: Game Neglect

Now, I've only been playing since about june of this year, not a long time I know. In that time as a Ranger, I have not seen one single update for my profession. Fine. We are somewhat of a minority, and can expect a little neglect. Doesn't make it right, but I can deal.
But it seems of late that the ENTIRE game has been neglected in favor of getting their new Jedi system up and running. I know it's a big deal, and getting jedi is the goal of many players, but come on. I'm paying my $20/month (canadian) like everyone else. How about changing SOMETHING that will affect me. Anything. I don't really care at this point. I just want something new to see or do.
And I know I'm not the only one.
Anyway, that's my rant. Sorry to bother everyone.

Yeah jedi should never of been the focal point of this game. There should of been 3/4 carefully selected jedi (good players, roleplayers perhaps and generally good people) then the limit capped at that.
From launch the main issue should of been completing the professions that were lacking from launch, for instance squad leader, smuggler, ranger and commando.
I serioulsy cannot imagine whosomeone wrote up the design scheduleand project aims to focus primarily on jedi, its justa serious business mistake, not to mention wrong in terms of customer satisfaction.
From launch theproject goals for the year should of been:
Start work on jtl: It was a major part of the game missing
Finish Smuggler, Ranger, Squad Leader, Commando, droid engineer, chef: These6 weakclasses should of been completed/revamped first and foremost whilst not turning the game into a buffs rule all game. IMO chefs should not have the role they do within the game, but thats just me, same the other 5 classes.
Fix Bugs: This needed to be done, no doubt about it
After this with work continuing on jtl development by another team, work should of moved to content, other profession revamps and then a gcw revamp.
The plan would be crammed packed with work and things to do but all this would be without revamp jedi or even implementing them. As we have it now we have a semi-droid engineer revamp, a chef revamp that helps to create a buff rules all game, jedi revamp which need constant fixes and balances, and jtl on the horrizon, all 14+ months after launch. I think without the jedi revamps, with well planned out DE and Chef revamps we would already be playing a revamped ranger, squad leader, smuggler and commando class and testing out or even playing the gcw revamp.
Jedi took far too much time out of the year to develope and implement when this game was never suposed to have a jedi focus.
This is a very general post by me so i apologise but rangers are involved somewhere in there in SOEs poor prioritising and planning.
I can only hope that the future brings more intelligent decision making and quick development times.

If you have been waiting for or depending on Ranger getting some attention you will be sadly disapointed. We have been waiting for over a year...

Rangers have gotten some attention.....
Like when they made it so you can pull pets without a camp... oh wait no that is not it.
How about calling vehicles anywhere.... hmm no not that either.....
Oh I know we can harvest organic resources really well.. ... oh yeah there isa droid to do that
Doctors need us to be able to do healing in the wild..... wait no adroid to do that also...
Well ok so can not think of one right now but I am sure that there has been one in the last year.
Oh I know it wasstealthlove and they just did not tell us opting for us to find it out by surprise. Yeah that is the ticket.

We will have our day....I ain't leaving until there is a coup, or i can see y'all through our revamp. I will say that a revamp is NOT in the foreseeable future, though.

I say we have a protest in coronet and yes "petition! Viva La Ranger" get all 99 of us on Wanderhome that are rangers to stand in one place

LOL sorry man, this is one of the reasons I quit this month.
All the game is doing is JEDI THIS JEDI THAT, oh how about something for BH that relates to Jedi? Or no wait, lets make furniture cooler.
I have been playing since day one man, and ranger has gotten very little in that time. And considering the devs admitted that this profession was not even finished at launch, it should have been one of the first ones for a revamp when they actually started doing official revamps.
IMHO this game has gone down the tubes and is now JEDI GALAXIES.

LOL yea, we wouldn't have to worry about the "no mass gatherings" policy, because there are so few of us that we wouldn't bring down the server or even degrade others play experience.

Thats why i said 99. Because at 100 they'd have to move us. We'll have an HTFB camp in!!!

It's a sad fact that this "neglect" is starting to seep out all over the place in game.
Though I love the game and enjoy the direction its mostly moving in (jedi centered ideals aside) I'm dissapointed to see all the great locations getting run down and broken.
The Warren still has a bug concerning the Turret System. The Berzerker Rifle was broken and never fixed. Spawns are being slowed and stopped to prevent "camping" POIs that represent the major content of the game. Merchants got nailed with a bug that prevents the transfer of buildings housing Vendors. Armor loot drops are no longer appealing because of buffs. etc etc.
I would love to see at least 1 developer assigned the role of maintenance to keep up with these bugs and fix them while everyone else pushes the game forward.
At least as rangers we know that when the apocolypse hits and the computers are brought down by the Galaxy far far away milenium falcon bug we'll still have our wilderness to call home.
