Thread: If they ever introduced artillery in this game

I'd definitely like to see Rangers incorporated to having to set target beacons so the artillery would be directed to that location.

I'm thinking Commandos would control the guns though.

Just throwing out a little idea.

Whats that, I can also shoot them through this solid 50 tonne mound of silicone? well hey, obviously my x-ray vision and uber t21 can bore through solid rock.

You'll have to forgive him, he's seeing from the CURB POV. He won't be kicked from the alpha team for this release of info because the release of the first CURB doc already stated that LOS will be turned on so his NDA isn't broken

No NDA worries for me, LoS has been implemented on TC for months and it really does make things more challenging, and fun.

Having said that, IF ballistic weapons were introduced, there'd be no problem getting an observer up front, or walking fire onto the target. Might be a bit of overkill for dealong with nuna lairs tho....

(Don't see it happening in the near future, don't really see Ranger having a role in it if it is introduced. Leave it to the combat specialists, we just molest critters in creative and unusual ways)

And do not tell me you would not enjoy that.

I don't know how you hunt, but that sure isn't how I hunt.

Meh! Arties for the Navy. We need CAP and airstrikes...

Meanwhile, back in the 'real' Galaxy, I'm all in favour of the addition of an Elmer Fudd style IED.

It consists of at least twelve crates of Acme C12, 6 crates of Imperial Detonators, and some red wire looted from NPC's. Additional stacks of any metal can be added, but be warned, this will create an AoE as shrapnel blasts out ffrom the IED and may cause neighbouring MoB to aggro.

In proper Acme style there is a 'random' chance of misfire resulting in your toon being left with its face on backwards and smoke rising from its eyebrows...

Just thought of another reason artillery wouldn't work in this game.

Everyone knows that stuff vanishes as you cross server boundaries. You'd have your battery set up near Bestine, get the trajectory all worked out to lay down a creeping barrage on AH and what'd happen?

Yup, sweet fiddly all.

Till about two weeks come Saturday when, out of the blue, whump whump whump...

Kreetles and rasps.

Can we get a Vulcan to do AA on the rasps?

If it flies, it dies.

JB

just a poor grunt type with a radio. Oh yeah, somehow I recall enough stuff to do an airstrike if I have to.Can I get an Arclight??

Lol, at first I was incredibly confused at this statement. Being the big Trekkie that I am, I thought you meant Vulcan as in the species (a la Mr. Spock for the uninitiated). It took me about five seconds to realize that you meant a Vulcan cannon.

I definately think that artillery would be a huge boon for the rebellion vs. AT-AT's that the devs in the chat said are coming into the game.

also, the E-Web fixed position weapon would be a great addition too
