Thread: Any update on a fix for Harvest Droids?

Harvest Droids still don't stack with the group or MR bonuses. 
My 119 droid, with 32.xx veghash, will only get me a very tiny amount extra--not worth it when you add in the time it takes to call and manage them.

1.Droids will not ever never ever count as part of a group for harvesting. Y'all - the ubiquitous y'all - made sure of that when the group nerf hit. People whined and snivled and got droids to not count as a group member for purposes of harvesting. As such, they can't use the group bonuses because they can't "see" the group bonuses, as they are "invisible" to the group bonuses much as they were "invisible" to the group harvesting nerf.The coding has been removed at "y'all's" request. Maybe this can be addressed during the revamp. I don't think it should be, as it is a result of the "masses" stupidity, but hey, the "y'all" can hope.
2. I think the problem with the droid and the MR bonus is that the droid is programmed, hard coded, to stop at 125, unless veghash is added. The same coding that stops maskscent bonuses in clothing from going over 125. If so, then maybe during our revamp we can address this. If this is not the case - then the droids are truly useless for Masters who harvest at 150.
I do so love it when I predict something will bite us in the azz and it does... I get a warm fuzzy. Then I want to go out and hunt Rancors just for giggles.

I agree with having droids not count towards the group bonus,but I'd like to see them do a proper bonus-check before adding their bonus on, instead of looking at the base bonus or being stuck under the old cap. As it's basically a bug, I hope they'll fix it before the revamp.
However, I'm more than a little disturbed that the Scout Correspondant has come into a non-whining thread in a sister forum and been so derisive. You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but I don't think the way you responded was called for.

I too sensed just a smidgeon of negativity. Now, I don't really care if pets count as a group for a harvesting bonus. I really don't care if droids count for a harvesting bonus. What does bother me is that when i am grouped with other people, I cannot use my droid. Why does this matter? I have gotten to really like the usefulness of having a droid there to harvest for me. It means I do not have to break my stride and harvest something 54m away. I cannot harvest when in combat, my droid can. There was a time when Lok Avain was going for 95 cpu, before I had my droid. I would be at a Perklek lair, wild one, and just as i was about to harvest the corpses near me, more would spawn. All I could do is watch as the corpses of the ones I had just killed poofed out of existance. If I had my harvey, that would not have mattered.
A harvey can be a really really nice tool for the harvester. This glitch in the system is not about those who want to cheat the system. I know the DE community has been hit pretty hard by this as well.

This is JB's forum as much as anyone heh. Although a scout hes been a ranger for as long as i can remember and always been a feature of the ranger forums.
As for the response you got.... heh.... its JB, what did you expect?

I still use my droid for the convenience factor, even if the bonus is barely noticeable. Well, when hunting alone, anyway. With our new +50 bonus at master, who can complain?
I would chide JB for responding a little rudely to a post that was reasonable and not remotely whiny, but we all have our quirks. JB hates harvesting droids, we all know that. He probably hates puppies and kittens, too. So while my sympathies lie with Saki on this one, I can understand JB's response. Whenever I hear about hunters using swoops anddriving back and forth between missions and terminals, I get pretty self-righteous. A real hunter tracks, on foot, well out of the mission zone. But there, that's my quirk.
We're all rangers here, and while we may disagree on certain things like the use of harvesting droids, we all know who the real monsters are: the dastardly villians of Team H*tpants. Point that aggression outwards, people.

I don't know JB so I had no expectations. I just know I was surprised to see a Correspondent posting like that, especially when he was the Scout Correspondent posting on a sister board!If it was anyone else, I would've just mentally dismissed him as a troll. I guess I just have higher expectations of the Correspondants than I do mere mortals. Player representatives and all that.

Although reps, we are still players, its just some of us choose to communicate better than JB heh. Aslong as you know what to expect from JB its all good but yeah its does throw a few people off who dont know him.

Ok the droids not not harvesting well in groups, I can see at least trying to get that fixed. Even then they are a waste of time more often than not. But the way they funtion now while solo? My HB 111 just out harvested me before, it out harvests me now. The % is lower but the amount is so much higher how can I care? Its like complaining that the veghash I stocked up on only gives me 3% more now when I got 6% before...

I think it would have been when the ablity for every member of a group to harvest one corpse came in, that came with the -40%.
