Thread: Some tips on getting FAST XP...
Actaully, I got 60,000 Frontiering XP and over 100,000 othr general "Scouting" type XP in a few hours yesterday doing my Master Ranger Holo grind... Best things I figured out that anyone can do are:
1) Make a camp with a crafting station in it, and have nothing but the bare minimum in your inventory as well as two general crafting kits, several k of hide, several k of bones, and several k of metal. Now, start making camp kits. Once your inventory is almost full, destroy all but one of the camps and run out of it attacking a nearby rill, chuba, or someother useless little crature. Now wait about 4 to 6 minutes and you will be given xp for your now disbanded camp. Build a new camp, and start making camps again...repeat. THE BONUS HERE IS that you get a little over 100xp per camp CRAFTED on top of the xp you got for just being in your camp. Look and see - you can make 3k to 6k per camp made...
2) Masked scent if your friend, and on a SWOOP BIKE, it's your best friend... Go to Dathomir, Science Outpost for example. Mask you scent, get on your swoop, hit ALT-M to bring up the over view map and start flying around looking for red dots. Go near ALL of them you can find at full speed. You will start racking up XP VERY quickly - up to 1k per minute in some areas. Once you find a large 500m to 600m area that has a lot of reds in it, simply weave your way back and forth around that area. You will get XP from the same animals over and over assuming you haven't come right back to one you were just at. (Give it a bit of time before visiting the same reds.) IF ANYTHING AGGROS YOU, simply keep going and get away as quickly as possible. Within 20 seconds or so, hit PEACE and clear your target. Stop your bike, get off, mask scent again, get on, and keep going...
3) Go hunting with a group and throw as many traps as you can at each animal. Idrag different types of traps into the toolbar at the top so all I have to do it TAB to the correct target, and hit F1 F2 F3 F4 F5 F6 F7 F8 (etc) and trap until the animal is killed by the others. Then TAB to the next creature being attacked and repeat until they are all gone. On top of that, you get a bonus in that you get to harvets from the animals that are killed by the others. FYI - some traps work on Rancords and Kraytsand they give between 1.5k and 2k each when they do affect the target. (Be sure to make your traps in your own camps to keep giving yourself camping XP.)
There you go. I went from 3-3-3-4 to Master in less than one day this way... I was afraid it was going to take a month of camping to get there...
I hope this helps a few people.

Two notes on the wilderness tip:
1. your camp will be abandoned because you're in combat, yes. What you fail to realise is that you'll get less XP for this then you would if you would just choose to 'disband camp'. So why you choose to have your camp be abandoned is a riddle to me ![]()
2. You get more XP for crafted items when using 'practice mode' and you will not get the item, just the XP plus 10% extra. Why craft and destroy all your camps but one when you can just craft one and then practice craft the rest?
For trapping xp, all i made was wire mesh traps and threw them at rancors(doesnt have to be rancors)all day. You can keep throwing the wire meshtrapsat the same target over and over.

Would you mind sharing how to 'disband camp'? I have never heard of this...

Interesting. I did not know this was the case - good for others to know I am sure. It would have save me an hour or so probably. LOL
Kodiaxx mentioned that my making camps method was expensive, but I only used materials I harvested myself, or got from my own mineral extractor. The extractor was fairly cheap, and pays for itself VERY quickly wehn items extracted are sold on the bazzar, so it did not cost any credits for me... =)
Enjoy... Am now grinding away at Master Rifleman... That seems to be an even worse grind... LOL

There is a small "vidscreen" in every camp that acts as a structure terminal. The options listed are Examine, Disband Camp, and Camp Status, if I recall correctly.

There's a "Control Panel" in your camp, just like a house. I'm not a Ranger yet, so I don't know where it may be in the advanced camps, but it's right next to the tent on the ground in the lower level ones. Looks like a little computer screen. Click on it to get a radial menu and choose, "Disband".
ROFLMAO
This proves that grinders make horrible players.
"How do you disband a camp?"
Puh-lease. You mastered scout and now ranger and never learned how to disband a freaking camp???
Lemme guess, camo kits are beyond yourabilitiesalso.
Yes, this is a flame, NRass is back, I can quit being nice.
Yeah yeah, the holo madeyou do it. Fine. Master and move on.

4 to 6 minutes isn't enough time on some camps. Maybe the basic for 300 xp but not the field base kit which gives 1000 roughly in 30 minutes or so.

Um - ok - lol... This _is_ nothing _but_ a grinding game... It's quite fun to figure out how to grind through the next profession. I have been playing 3 months and already mastered 4 and am half way to a 5th. You play your game and I will play mine... It's a big universe with room for everyone... LOL
As to disbanding a camp, who cares really? I asked so others who might be interested in conquering masters could do so a bit more quickly. I have never needed to because they (camps)are a place to switch pets, heal a bit, and go back to getting incapped by whatever got you the first time... LOL Why waste time with disbanding whenthe game will do it for you as soon as you start fighting again... LOL LOL
You people who get so upset because everything isn't exactly your way really make this game more fun for me. Why isn't this more like a galactic civil war? Because it isn't, plain and simple... Just because a few losers like to kill people in and around starports where there is no "police" or "government" control doesn't make it a universal war. You can have at it. I would rather see all the things the devs have come up with and figure out new ways to explore all the content they have given us by going from skill tree to skill tree.
Smiling and happy... Me LOL
anyway back to the reason this is a post. grinding the survival xp will cost you a little i sat in a camp and made the improved camp (Practice mode) and gained about 10k an hour but it takes a heck of alot of hide and bone to do it. and if you can get 5 people in your camp it will max out xp wise in 5 mins.
but it is well worth the expense i am 8k from wilderness 3 and just got a butt load of bone and hide so i should be done with wildernesss soon. Also for those wanting to do it fast use a crafting Macro with 3 crafting tools it goes VERY VERY fast.
Thanks for the tip Swgsomething. ![]()
