Thread: Looking for advice on harving avian on talus

I can't see any missions for avain beasts on the terms so how do you get large stacks from talus? Tried the Giant Fynock cave and got 1 unit each from all the beasts.
Any help would be great.

Hunting Talus AVIAN, eh? Well, the caves will ALWAYS, no matter the planet, give 1 unit for each harvest. Its meant to be this way so people cannot camp caves getting a ton of a certain resource. Secondly, the best way to get avian meat is to hunt rasps. Its a long and painful job, but if the CPU is high, its worth it. Rasps have mission for about 1.4k cr. The next best way is to head to the south of Talus and hunt jungle fynocks/devil gulginaws.

I know Radiant had a Talus Avian spawn a while back, prices were crazy! Anyway, try grouping with something REALLY weak, aim for CL 13-14.

Okie doke.
First off you need to go after rasps of all shapes and flavours, fynocks (NOT vynocks, they're herb meat IIRC) and of course, the gorgeous gulginaw.
Get a couple of missions off the term, if you need to, but mission lairs generally only spawn a few critters. If the meat is paying as well as I imagine, that time spent traipsing back and forth to the terminal is cutting into your killing/harvesting time. Half a dozen birds off a wild lair will more than cover what the mission terminal would have paid out.
Work north of wherever you are starting, do a triangle patrol of about 500m on each side to scare up some spawns. Whatever appears, kill it. You'll soon start getting the birdies. Move up into the mountains to get the gulginaw, and, if you're really lucky, Devil Gulginaw.
I took a couple of novice+ scouts up with me last week for an hour or so. Had a blast. Came back with a 6 figure paycheck. Toddled back up on my own for an hour, well, that's me covered for rent/toys for the next month and a bit more.

I am hunting rori avain...I am a TKM...in order to pull rasp missions I have to group with my kaadu (level 10) and equip a stone knife...I tried equiping a cdef rifle but that didn't work..whereas my friend who is rifleman used a cdef carbine and kaadu..do you see the trend? though I am talking rori and this is about talus so maybe a droid group instead of a creature

Picked up a job on my server going after Tat avian meat for 80cpu, WHOOOOHOOO!!! Got a nice r5 harvest droid at 104 and my cu-pa's big enough to do some good range damage. While this will take awhile (she wants a 10k or more stack) it's going to be an easy hunt.

Excited about a Tat avian hunt... hmmmmm... I might chalk one up on the crazy list here.

Go barehanded, you get fynock missions, unless you are TK. Find a weapon you are not qualified in and you get low missions.
And just wander near player cities, plenty of fynock spawn.

lol well I'm hunting Lokian Av but thats cause the price per unit is 250, and the stats are worth it, make easy money on a run

The caves give 1 unit because the amount of units you harvest of a creature is based on a resource density like the rest of the resources. Resource density inside the cave is 0% so it gives you the minimum of 1 unit. This has been confirmed by the organic survey tool that existed a couple of days/weeks on testcenter when the Village was in beta. Not being able to camp was just a nice side effect.
As for Talus avian, for me also a once but never again experience.
