Thread: My hopes for this game are gone.
First, don't knock other professions, it is not appropriate to our trying to get help. The problem is the vast majority of other professions seem to always get attention over us, it isn't a specific profession that is the problem. The Devs have had a "wait and see" approach to us since the beginning of SWG, and as you can tell we are still "waiting and seeing". (Tears) I have been here months before SWG went live, and because of the "wait and see" approach to us, I have seen many, many great Rangers sadly go into the sunset, and on to other games where Rangers are treated with respect and equally with other professions and this includes other SOE games. This is the only MMO that has ranger types that seems to be continually ignored and devalued, but I love SW so I still hold out hopes that "SOON" the "wait and see" policy will come to and end and we will get good treatment and equal treatment with all professions, and that their very narrow view of Rangers will hopefully become broader in the near future. So hang in there, be as positive and encouraging to each other as we can and hopefully we will all be wonderfully surprised at the Devs attention toward us.

I think we need more stickies.
Maybe we should ask other correspondents what they do to get attention?
Because, they are doing it so well that we don't even get our traps fixed. ![]()

Why are we even waiting this long? When anything is wrong with jedi the devs fix it right away, are we not as important as jedi?
They've made a lot of promises that havent been kept for all the other professions. A lot of people bought it to play Han Solo and others to play Chewbacca. But Smuggler still hasnt seen a revamp and the wookies have armor but an expansion pack about their race with no content for their race specifically.

Many of the other professions dokeep a "Top Five" list of bugs that they hope to get addressed. Somewhere in Texas each week there is an SOE:SWGdevelopment staff meeting for setting priorities. If we had a queue of "top" or even just "easy, pre-revamp" issues all ready for the the staff to pick from rather than having to research and develop the items themselves it might make it more likely that one of our issues will make it into the development hopper.
Good hunting and clear skies.
Whether you realize it or not. You have one of the best correspondents representing this profession. Owen doesnt make promises he can't keep. He takes the fight to where it needs to go and pushes hard. Between our Ranger and Scout correspondents we have seen some of the really nasty issues get resolved through brute force.
Believe me it is not for lack of trying. Owen and Vorpaks (since they cant get Blue Glowie support anymore) are pushing to get things moved forward. But right now the devs focus is on other areas besides us. And honestly there isnt much, if anything, we can do to fix this.
Oh I know I will see "We could petition", "We'll do an ingame protest", "I'll quit". Thats fine and dandy but it doesnt work. I really wish we could see the game population and subscription numbers. Because im sure Im like a lot of people who still have there accounts but dont play active or at all. And are sitting here twiddling our thumbs waiting patiently while playing other games.

*Cough* Commandos, Smugglers, Squad Leaders.. Image designers, Musicians, Dancers.. all entertainers.. Droid engineers, anyone? The list goes on.. Rangers aren't alone, and never have been, in feeling a lack of substance and attention for their professions.
Who exactly are these professions/correspondents that are getting attention so well? (Apart from revamped combat professions, which was promised since shortly after the start of the game and only saw change 1 month ago).
I don't think it has anything to do with correspondents or how vocal the community is... We always read that Jedi/BH get changes because they whine and rant. That's complete nonsense.. Otherwise we'd see battlefields finally fixed!
Changes made have more to do with what the developers see as the priority, and what will have more of an affect to the overall game... not on which community/corr is the most vocal.
Corrs can only submit questions, bugs and issues and wait.. and wait.. for a response. Which is usually a "we definitely want to do this, but we don't have a timeframe" type answer. We've never had a ranger corr who didn't do this.. not to mention fight hard to be heard.. and I don't see how anything they could do would fix our problems any faster.
Some wise person once said that he thought a lot of our issues could be fixed by hot-fixes. I am still hoping for that. I would like to see all of our "little" issues ironed out before our revamp so they can concentrate all their attention on new stuff/new skills to add on.
But first we need the bug fixes.
