Now that they are finally in has anyone looked at the ingredients? Berries? Deciduos Wood? WTH are they thinking? Ranger's can't get these items! Do they expect us to litter nature with even more **edit** harvestors or something? The only way to get these is medical forage [which we don't have unless they expect us to be medics as well] and harvestors.

Nope, they expect a master ranger to buy wood/oats/meat/hides or bones from the local planet when they first arrive on it (have yet to see a master ranger freshly arrived solo things on dathomir and the like without /conceal, just to be allowed to use it).

I though the camo kits were only for applying on other peoples (as they aren't trained to camo themselves).

Apparently, we have to buy the items and apply the kits to ourselves. Like with traps, the kits do not stack. So we have to walk around with even more junk in our packs.

They should change the name of the class to Packrat.

This is pure crap, I guess I'm using masked scent still since I'm not wasting my money on buying the ridiculous amounts of these items since I can't get them on my own.

"I guess I'm using masked scent still"

- And that is a perfectly reasonable suggestion. If you don't need camo kits, don't use them.

- I, personally, will enjoy concealing my medic team members. I hate when they get aggroed before me

how did you get the Polymer and Steel for FB? dig it up from the ground? I don't see how it's any different than what you have to do for FB. You either get it yourself or buy it from someone.

"how did you get the Polymer and Steel for FB? dig it up from the ground?"

- Actually isn't that what you WOULD do to get Polymer and Steel in this game?

- Anyways... Yes that is an excellent point. If you were already buying Polymer and Steel, what's the additionof some Flora products to your shopping list?

- I'm sure the resource traders out there are going to enjoy having some new materials to supply.

This is much different than a field base. Camo kits are used much more than field bases and the items on the list should be things we can forage for with our own forage skill. I don't see why only medical forage or surveying can get these items... I think a Ranger can recognize a berry when he see's one.

I do think that with the increased push to turn rangers into a crafting profession, having only artisans able to sample, and only medics able to resource forage is a bit weak. Rangers, unlike most combat oriented professions do not get combat skills in their advanced skill tree. So most rangers will have an advanced weapon profession as well, requiring the base and at least one column of the minor class. Forcing rangers to have to be artisans, medics or mission whores is not a good thing.

No one is saying that making camo kits is now impossible. But as a designer you would think that a Ranger could provide himself with the means to assemble these resources.

But just as medics all need to be surveyors and miners, I guess we need to be too.

I just wish medical forage wasn't so screwed up. You only get 1 unit for each attempt. At that rate it would take forever.

It's just frustrating that I know as a Master Ranger I could go to Dathomir and apply camo. BYT NOT UNTIL I hired a surveyor to go find and sample me 10 units of dathomirian deciduous wood. So my hands are tied.

My advice if you have no surveying skill, buy a micro flora farm, randomly place it (preferably near other farms) and pray that the resource you need is listed. Even at %15 youll eventually get what you need.

It has long been my contention that ANY scout should be able to operate a Flora Survey tool, at least at it's basic effectiveness. I think I know fungus when I see it.
