Hey guys.

The devs are looking for a ranger guide that could possibly become a friday feature and im sure we could get it added to the main site. I was suposed to be doing this but im afraid i dont have the time with work and all and a relationship thats getting more serious than anything ive ever been involved in before. Any of you guys up for having a crack at a guide or being part of one?

I knowWildBill wanted to do something along these lines at one time, you still up for it man?

Calc came up with a great idea for us to make a ranger community guide. Instead of one person, we all chip in and make a guide from all of us.

What do you think to that? "Submitted By The Ranger Community" sounds great from where we are standing.

Now get scribing you crazy rangers!

I suggest every link in the guides section of this thread.

I can help, but is it a guide on what the profession's abilities can do? Like a list of examples and such?

Edited because obviously we aren't supposed to post the articles here

Well, I really think it's silly to write a guide at this point in time give that things SHOULD be changing in the near future.

Does the fact that they want a guide mean that they see the current state as the future state as well? I dunno, maybe it's silly of me to think we're going to get changes.

After writting and reading those issues/bug threads today, I'm really friggen bitter. Lots of changes needs, lots of easy solutions, nothing being done.

Didn't Calc compile a guide for the Friday Features thing back when he was corry?

But are we supposed to place the information here in this thread, or in a new one?

Either way, I call dibs on interpreting stats on a resource to determine it's usefulness in craftable items.

Lol, I did, and TH asked me if I wanted to update it and apparently told Owen to do one (typical dev communication). Owen and I discussed it, and we decided it would be nice to have a guide for the people, BY the people .

If we want a good guide, it needs to be well written and researched properly. It should be organized, with various people assigned different sections of the guide.

That might be the way to go. List some topics we would like to see in the guide. Have people volunteer to write a topic. Give a date when the topic should be presented to the community for ratification. After a couple days of comments, assemble guide and give to TH.

Yep. If everyone wants to go along with it we can start splitting it all down.

I think it is a great idea. Some topics to cover:

  • Grinding

  • Food

  • Trainer Locations

  • Skillsets(tracking, trapping, etc.)

  • Resources

  • Templates

  • Pets/Droids

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

I think that's a great idea on how to do the guide.
