Thread: Starsider Professional Rangers / Scouts Wanted for Market Guild
Do you make your money from your harvests? If so looking for new Rangers to join non-faction, non-PA resource market guild for price-fixing and info-sharing on where to find best stuff. We're selling way too low. Let's lock down the markets and get even richer.

Yes, a very good idea. Unionize the Rangers on Starsider, and demand more credits in proportion to the millions the crafters have.
"There is strength in numbers"...
Each monday discuss any price changes make a fixed post so we all know what to sell for. Could be set out in this way; add the important stats up per type and fix a price per:
Meats: (based on OQ/PE)
<1000 total = <10cr/per (eg <500 OQ and <500 PE)
1001-1200 = <15cr/per (eg <600 OQ and <600 PE)
1201-1400 = <20cr/per(eg <700 OQ and <700 PE)
1401-1600 = <30cr/per(eg <800 OQ and <800 PE)
1601-1800 = <40cr/per (eg <900 OQ and <900 PE)
1801-1900 = <50cr/per (eg <950 OQ and <950 PE)
1900> = >50cr/per(eg Anything above 1900 total)
Hides: (based on OQ/SR/MAL/UT)
<2000 total = <10cr/per (eg All stats <500)
2001-2400 = <15cr/per (eg All stats <600)
2401-2800 = <20cr/per (eg All stats <700)
2801-3200 = <30cr/per (eg All stats <800)
3200-3600 = <40cr/per(eg All stats <900)
3601-3800 = <45cr/per (eg All stats <925)
3801-3900 = <50cr/per (eg All stats <950)
3900> = >50cr/per (eg All stats over 950)
Following similar guide line we could create similar tables for Bone and Fish.
These are just some prototype figures. I understand they are very high towards the high end but finding hide or meat with over 800/900 across the board is very hard and results in a much greater mark up for the end sellers. These figures would enable us to co-ordinate prices and still remain competetive between each other by having the <$ figures. Eg. for an 750 OQ and 750 PE meat i may wish to charge 25cr/per but my competitior may sell at above or below this figure. These could be used as guidelines to 'unioinise' us but at the same time allow us to act as individual bodies competing in the market place. Besides at the present rate, armoursmiths and docs will buy everything you can possibly get your hands on.
Could i have any thoughts on this set up proposal, the figures i have come up with are just to fill the table and can be changed but are logical and could be used as a benchmark if everyone wished.
Thanks

Sign me up as well. I will abide by the prices set by the guild and would love to have a where is high quality stuff currentlyemail everyday if possible. Not to mention I like your prices listed better than my formula for meat (2*OQ + PE)/200. I also think it might be worth while to have a common PA or person to borker the resources for us. I think if we can come up with a standard pricethe merchants will know we can deliver it in the big amounts, they will gladly pay what we ask.

trying to set a 'standard fee' for our resources is impractical for one simple reason: only a fraction of players visits the forums.
Hey All:
I've started putting the SARAS tag on stuff when I sell it. SARAS (Starsider Association of Rangers and Scouts). I figure on each server you can do the same, ex: EARAS (Eclipse Association of Rangers and Scouts), or on Sunrunner, SUNARAS. I'm hoping to have a secure website up soon for members.
So for my tags I've been putting:
Medium-Quality Wooly, 7c/u from SARAS (Starsider Association of Rangers and Scouts) - Ypiana
Premium Avian, 30c/u from SARAS (Starsider Association of Rangers and Scouts) - Ypiana
...You get the idea.
I usually round down just a bit so I can market it as "less than Xc/u" For example 203 wooly for 1400 and I put it Medium-Quality Wooly, less than 7c/u.
I've been taking down names of Starsider players who have shown interest and we are working on setting prices.
Oh, and I'm no longer master ranger, but Master Gunfighter, BH pistol, and Tracking 4 for the yields. Personally I just don't think the other Ranger skills help me harvest or hunt better, so a couple people were kind of offended that anyone less than a master ranger was putting this together, but I really think it's the spirit of the hunter that counts, not a title.
