Thread: Rangers and more missions

I think that one great thing the devs can do for Rangers is give them the ability to take on more missions. They are the masters of the wilderness and should be able to be out in the field a lot longer. It should go either in the Wayfering or Frontiering branch. We should get one more mission at lvl 2 and another mission at Master for a total of 4 Missions.

What do you think?

That would be pretty hip. I hate going into town. When they say the 256MB RAM will run the game, but not run the game well, they mean it! Each shuttle trip = 5-7 min. Two shuttle trips = reboot. Not relog, reboot. Ouch. I love the game. My computer hates it.

More missions = less town time.

I think the idea of getting more missions at master ranger is a great!! i sure would love to not have to come into town after two missions when soloing. But I'm not sure about carrying one more thing in my backpack, i haveenough stuff in it already

How about we just put a mission terminal in the camps...Oh wait, we've said that one before. As far as a good reason, we do get the "Hunt Master" title, do we not? We are meant to be leading a hunt into the wilderness. Why are we forced to sit around in a town? Most players run missions because they want the cash. Those players never get to see even 10% of all the cool stuff the Devs have put into the game. This would let people go out from the towns a bit and just explore. While still getting paid to do it.

Well i think it should really go in the Frontiering Branch of Ranger, one there and one at master, kinda like the pet thing with CH. I say Frontiering now that I think about it because as the description in Frontiering III Wilderness Survival Mastery states:

"At this skill level, the Ranger is an unmatched master of wilderness survival. Whether a week alone in the Dune Sea or a shelterless night on the peak of some frost-covered mountain, the Ranger survives and thrives."

In game terms we could go out and hunt a longer period of time without having to come back to town.

This will also make people take Frontiering instead of doing the 0-0-4-0 in Ranger.

Doh! I really gotta stop coming up with good ideas, it'll just make us that much sadder when the devs say we have no good argument, or that we have to wait 6 more months =)

At least when we only wanted the ability for monkey-making, they agreed!

c'mon people don't you think this would improve the ranger profession. Roleplaying would be much more enjoyable if we could stay out longer and explore the wonderful terrain that SWG has made on some of these planets.

i love this idea maybe implement a sort of ranger transmitter to contact city so they can stay out for long periods of time. have it be artisan craftable and only useable at frontiering III tieing in with what roarke said i'd love to see this happen

Great Idea!

I would say two extra missions at Master Ranger.

I don't honestly think this will be unbalancing as I get missions from player cities where you quite often have to travel only 450-600m to the lair and it takes no time for me to hop on my bike for two more.

that's true. I just wanted to add something to ranger that would be real cool and not throw the whole system out of whack. I think I would feel more love towards the Ranger profession just by adding this.

I really think having a mobile mission term attached to our best camp (High Tech Field Base) would be the better way to go. Thats just my 2 credits.

In a perfect world, the banners on our tents would signify our chosen faction and we'd have faction terminal ability too ....but heh ...now I'm just dreaming.
