Thread: Camo kits and the Warren and Vette

Do Dantooine Camo Kits work effectively in the warren? I have no combat skills and am going in with my bf's char, TKM/Fencer, so if camo kits will at least keep from from being agroed constantly, that'd be great. Has anyone tried it?

Also, since it takes place in space, I dont think so, but has anyone tried a camo kit on the corvette as well?

Thanks

I do have a clue.

Nope, won't work.

However, go at a busy time. It's heavily camped on my server, so there are no NPCs to aggro.

Done it a few times, on my own and taking a group through, and found the results vary depending on how 'stirred up' things get.

If you're the only group there (unusual these days, but hey) walk in cammoed, the dogs in the big 'dormitory' with the 2 corpses and the lockers will sit there and ignore you. The droideka ignored us too. Some of the human npc's (thug type not the scientists) did have a go, but pretty much everyone else ignored us big style. Oh, and the mini-gun turret? It fired on us but we seemed to get a seconds grace before it responded. As a result last man thru got hit in the butt but our doc used the magic sponge and all was well.

OK, when it's like a zoo? Forget it. Might as well run about and shoot anything that moves along with the rest of the wreckin' kru. The 'alert' state of whatever MoB is doing a check against your camo seems to give it a far higher chance of a 'hit'.

That having been said, in the Warren, the doc and I spent an hour or so running about healing players, cammoing them and getting folk thru some of the chokepoints. WE were both cammoed up and would frequently just sit down whenever an aggroed MoB ran past after somebody. So long as they kept going we were invisible to the MoB, even after it had killed them and wandered back past us. /shrug

I did the warren in 7 minutes because it's perma-camped. Go bugged and armored during a high-traffic time and you'll rarely run into a problem.

This is horrible! I return to find my new title on the forum is "Jedi". What's up with that? If they wanted to confer that I'm rare and learned, they'd make my title RANGER. and then make it camo colored.

I know it's not entirely relevant but I was surprised how effective my maskscent was when I wandered back to the Hermit cave on Tat to complete the hero quests. I took a tank-like friend for protection but managed to swan all the way through to the very last squill before getting any aggro.

Got lucky I guess...

I would swear that I was able to maskscent my way through a lot of the Warren, but that was many moons ago.

Wot he say-ed

Nothing beats my experiance of 12, yes 12 lines of spam telling me that the SBD's saw through my camo. It's pretty hard to get the server to simultaneously break my camo from 12 things at the same time, but yes, it happened.

When are you planning to thru Jadis? I live right by there in Solicia, and I've done the Warren a few times (unbuffed, unarmored, alone and with guildies). I've hardly ever seen anything in there worth worrying about these days, and I've ALMOST got the way around pretty much memorized (or darn close at this point). Got lost enough the first time, but my guild-mates were glad to have someone who could actually decipher the overlay map w/them even if I WAS a newb at the time. If you guys are going to run thru at some point in the future, let me know. I ran thru the other morning to find a master ranger inside that could train me, and there were only 4 of us in the Warren total, and not a single mob anywhere in sight.

Anyways, swing by Solicia, say hi. Maybe I'll go thru with you for fun if you want. Maybe we can have a mini-Rangerpalooza or something there on Dantooine. I've got a sweet 5* fish / no vegetation fishing hole right outside my house, it's all good.

Thanks

Lately, I've been told, it isnt too camped. Perhaps I'll just try camoing myself and my bf's char someday when theres no one there... if we die... oh well. We'll try it again another time

Was there a patch that made it so camo/mask didn't work inside (dungeons)? Or is that part of my fantasy world?

It works. The problem, however, are the mobs. Only a scant few will not break it immediately... and when they break, the part about attacking the concealed comes into play. THEREFORE I highly recomment NOT doing it. Trust me, you will be far happier (untill they fix that silly rule, :grumpy: )

At my last check you didn't need camo kits (or even armor for that matter) to go through the warren.

Since Publish 10 the warren respawn rate has been set to 24hrs (much like most other POIs and caves). As of pub 10 anytime later in the day you can simply waltz up the the ticket dude... get the ticket and walk all the way through the entire Warren without seein a single NPC or creature.

I am not showing you the way to an exploit because according to CSRs the Creature respawn rates are working as intended on these locations. By the way have we started complaining about this yet in here?(currentlyits mostly NPC locations that have had their timer resets. The Squill cave and Geocave are working normally, but many others were completely shut down by this. That includes the Warren, the NS Forced Labor Camp, The Rogue Corsec Base, the Mauler Encampment, the A'akuanCave, the Pirate outpost on Naboo, and some others.) The respawn of all loot containers (for the badges) are working at their regular speed, however.

Don't bother with the camo for now.

For the corvette ... don't bother either. The kits don't work in space. What does work suprisingly well however is unequipping any weapons. I regularly run solo loot trips to the corvette (mostly to test out food combinations and defense modifiers) and have found that with a weapon unequipped you can usually run through about half of the loot spots (or half of most of the mission objectives) without drawing aggro a single time.

Ooo, if thats true I will love the Devs, well... maybe.

It could be they decided to be nice to noncombatants like myself trying to get glowy, since the warren is required for that.

That is very interesting... My bf is a badge collector and has been trying to collect all 9 from it, I'll have to convince him to try this.

Thanks for all the responses everyone
