Thread: Who Knew?

As much fun as I had doing Scout, I figured to go Ranger. I dabbled in SL (the trainer yelled at me like I was a private, screw that) and CH (here boy? Don't bite my sorry azz... nope not for me), but that was while I was working on Ranger.

I goofed around finding my weapon longer than I did Mastering Ranger.

I had no idea what I wanted to be when I started. I tried artisan, working my way up to cheffing. Didnt like the crafting, took too much thinking. I was hunting alot in groups leaving from Mos Eisley. As soon as you get the XP for a box when you're a noob you instantly go and train it, regardless of what it is, and before I knew it I was Master Scout. Made sense just to keep going.

i had my template set before playing: master commando, 4004 artisan, and some dabbling in architect (so i could build my house) and weaponsmith (so i could make my own weapons). I wanted to be self sufficient before the game came out (this was in april of '03 that I had planned this). When I got the game, I started as a marksman in the Naboo Military (RPing), and started working on the rifle tree of Marksman. I worked on scout and artisan at the same time too, building bone armor suits to sell for 1k each. Soon, my friends joined, I moved to Tat, and I began trying to get Weaponsmith. I soon got bored of getting 15k xp/hr for getting Carpel Tunnel (This was before third-party programs and macros were really used and right after mounts) so I decided, after reading all of the Ranger description boxes, I would become a Ranger (Rare items! The Master of the Wild! Able to survive out in the wild for weeks! That is why I got Ranger). I wanted to get pistoleer, but decided that short range (melee) was much better. I was a TKM/Ranger for a time, then hologround, the picked up Rifles. I have been a Ranger/Rifle for 3 months now, and my alt is going Ranger/Rifle currently.

I started playing SWG in July of this year. I wanted to be a Master Commando before I even finished loading the game. I went on to MC with TKM. Later Idropped MCdue to the fact that I killed most things too quickly, i.e. lost the fun of the hunt, and picked up Doc so I wouldn't have to go get buffed while out hunting.

I decided to get another character (crs'tee)in October and started her off as Chef/Tailor. After mastering I discovered I hated crafting. I decided to pick up Ranger just for tracking to help my alt with the Hero of Tatooine quest. After starting I fell in love with the profession. She isgoing Pistoleer/Ranger.

As a side note I made Master Ranger about an hour ago.

I don't know if this has been asked before...

But it's been on my mind recently.

Who knew they were going to be a Ranger from the get go?

Elaborate if you like. For those of you who fell into it or found it later... what took so long?

For me... I knew ever since I first started looking into SWG. I read about it and just knew that from day one I would eventually end up there. And here I am... enjoying my time working up the Ranger tree. Getting Master Ranger will be a day of celebration.

Now I'm doing (prepares for an attack from JB) my fs and eventually Jedi stuff.... but i'm sure my alt will be another ranger....

Think i have to agree with most people, Ranger was always my aim in getting to the ranger spot, though i would of liked to get master rifleman at the same time, but discovering at a late stage that rifles aren't very good for going into dungeons, decided to go swordsman until i've done them all then switch back to rifleman

Always played a Ranger in Pen and Paper D&D, so it was a natural for me.

Was a Master Pistoleer for quite some time, but dropped it for Rifleman...

I do miss Dodge though.

I actually toy with the idea of dropping Ranger for Master Pikeman, or dropping everything but Tracking, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

Question for all you TKA/TKM out there...

Do you need the entire meditate line to heal wounds or does it just take longer w/o the entire line?

You need the entire tree to heal wounds.... but at master you heal more wounds. Example... you'll heal about 5-7 wounds at a time per attribute at the 4th meditation box... but at master it's more along the lines of 15-20 wounds at a time per attribute(not exact numbers just an example.) it's nice to have.... though i must admit I miss rifleman a little bit. TKM is sweet though.

hope that helps
