Thread: Explorer Missions: A poll...
This is a relatively quick question, a poll of sorts. How many people are regularly using the Exlorer Mission terminals?
Since my days of nightspidering and spineflapping I haven't gone near one. I'm curious if anyone else is still using them, and what kind of success they're having. I recently noticed some pretty nice paying missions (around 10k for killing 45 greater shaupauts on naboo) but I don't know if I'm the only one still doing them.
Currently I use them to help with my hunting. I pick up one standard mission to lead me towards the resource I'm hunting, and one explorer mission to throw some extra loot in depending on how many creatures pop out of any given layer. It's nice to hit two missions and end with nearly 15k in your pocket BEFORE selling any harvests.
Anyway, I'm curious who's using them and how. Areatrack is nice but until /track is implemented it doesn't do much good with these missions (especially since I've chased areatrack down several times only to find the creatures aren't where they should be.)

Explorer what?? Oh, those, don't touch em, missions take too long,t'is a pain in the butt to find the freaking lil beasties.
I would rather run 6 regular missions, which is about how long one explorer mission takes. My play islimited on weekdays, so I want to make some money when I can,max out a harvest andstill have time to seepeople. The explorer missions are justborked up...kill 45 hambabas... be freaking real, that takes like 3 hours, never mind finding the freaking things, for 15k. I cando 6 missions at 3k, make 18k and still have time to doother stuff.
Last time I did an explorer mission was when my max missions were like 10-15s, we were killing durnis and loving it. My minimal missions now are low 20s, so it's been a day or three.

"How many people are regularly using the Exlorer Mission terminals?"
I pick up two whenever I am in town...
- But since I am rarely in town, I don't tend to do many.

It should be noted that I haven't performed a Destroy mission in a number of months...
- So comparatively speaking I do more Explore missions than any other mission type.

I tried it once. But having to hunt down 45 anythings takes way too long. So, have not tried again. I was not able to find a reg mission that matched any of the explorer missions I was seeing. I havent been doing a lot of missions on alone on the lower planets. Normally I go with a group a few times a week to a higher planet and get credits, xp, and resources.
I rarely do them. Mainly because I forget to look for a certain type, or I just never seem to find them even when I seem to "Figure" I'll see one following my normal hunting lines.
The animals are usually too specific, or too dangerous, so I rarely do them. Quite frankly, I'll take my chances with regular mission terminals. Although I can now take down any animal on Corellia not pack related. So all the destroy mission on the terminals are usually too easy. Might have to give explorer missions another shot.
I used them a lot when they first appeared (I wasn't a Ranger then), but now I stick to regular terminals if I'm doing missions.
Maybe I should go try them now that I'm a Ranger with some better combat skills.
Thats what I do. I enjoy explorer missions when im bored, however now that I am grouping for some big hunts more often than not...I dont do them as often
All the time. I get 8k or more a pop and can do at least one a night, sometimes 2. Plus, I sell the organics. Currently on Corellia, Eclipse the organics are crap so I have not been doing them. I've got little overhead (on perpose) and I'm not needing money right now so I'm saving them for the planets I need to hunt on. Might as well grab the critter that has the organics the merchant wants, it pays for your trip... and then some ![]()
It's actually the next-best thing to an exploit if you know what you are doing
. Beats getting pounded by those chicken-things on Endor. ![]()
they are great for those times you know you'll be exploring (which is nearly everyday for me)
I normally kill everything that crosses my path so explorer missions are just icing on the cake.
