Hey Wyndinn, I stopped using but I tried one last week. I learned that the best way to NEVER find something is to getan explorer mission for it. I grabbed a savage humbaba explorer mission and ran out into the Agrilat Swamps.

If you are hunting on Corellia, easier to go Violent Krahbu and Tabbage, they are more common and you can go out to the middle of the planet (riverlands) and finish 45 in a day, 90 sometimes if you find a sweat spot. Rouge Bagerset sometimes works but are a tad less common. Most of the stuff in the Crystal Swamp I can't solo (which is a signal to the devs that Rifleman suck at solo PvE).

I have a group that i run with routinely...sort of a cooperative. WhenI need numbers of a specific resource, or others are in need of some cash, I will grab 2 explore missions and then tell the others what we need to kill. They will hit the regular mission terminals and grab destroy missions for my quary. That is all i really use the explore missions for since the good paying missions usually involve creatures that will wipe the floor with me if i am solo.

As an aside, anyone else notice you can run into town passing all kinds of creatures, hit the explore terminal for those exact same crittier missions - and then when you run back out of town, they are gone? Does hitting the accept mission button make those creatures go into "rare" spawn mode? (in jest, of course)

I have to say I'm not terribly surprised by the results here. For the most part people seem to be ignoring the terminals. Either they don't pay in a decent ratio (as per the 8 destroys for 1 explorer = 24k:22k) or they just ask for things that are darned near impossible to find. I'm wondering therefore whether we could petition the devs to look into making these terminals a little more worthwhile. Maybe rather then telling us to just go and kill 45 of a critter it could ask us to go harvest 1k units of a certain type of harvest.

Wouldn't it be nice if it asked you to go out and collect 1k units of herbivore meat? It's something we acutally do, and its closer to what the artisans do with their survey missions. In the very least it would a cover our travel expenses when we have to spend 3-4k just to get to and from some of the more remote planets. And even if we can't sell it for a really good price we could use it to send more practice quality harvests into the system while still covering our expenses.

This is an easy question to answer.

I've used it 2 times.

athering resources for a medic buddy, I decided to get some herbivore meat on Tat, figured what the hell, and got myself an Eopie mission.

Almost a hour later, still no Eopies to be found. Delete mission, get 2 destroy and find not just my two but 2 more on the way.

Yup as previously mentioned, Explorer missions seem to be more to clear a zone of that particular critter, unless you take a destroy mission with it.

Haven't looked at one since.

I ususlly pick them up when hunting for a specific resource. Last week i picked up one each for Carrion spats for Avian Meat, and Rogue Bagersets for Herb Meat, then just roamed the planet until i completed missions. 12k for hunitng for a couple of days. and 350k for selling the meat. 5k avian, and 12k herb. plus able to give a 2k stack of each to a guild mate.

I enjoy explorer missions once in a while, but I too have passed the point where Ican get explorer and destroy missions of the same type

Remember, you can get them in 3 quantities, 15, 30 or 45

Also, I don't think these are "grind" missions. It's for the explorers, the wanderers... my take on it is... I'm going to go exploring "uncharted" areas and see what I can see, I might as well grab an explorer mission or two and see if i can make some extra cash while doing so. I don't focus on it specifically, so if I don't findmy quota, no big deal, if I do, I got a few extra credits... In the end I'll still have my pile of resources to sell and maybe some interesting stories to tell

This crap was so annoying tonight. I managed to get 44 Carrion Spats, after 3 missions of Spats.. and a lucky spawn point, I still didn't have them alll.

suppose I'll find them tomorrow..

LLC 4..it's thebest way I can hunt solo. I had to hang up my T21 since I kept shooting myself to death and my guild mates all use pistols (silly to hit a different pool than everyone else).

I've taken maybe 4. Just did not make much math sense to do them, although I usually only take missions now for certain resources to spawn for me.

On a side note, I am a rifleman and I can solo everything in the Crystal swamp. Use caution when using specials do to the mind but to speed things up you can use a riflemans best freind, Muon Gold. Or you can get my new best freind, the entertainer buff. If you get a good entertainer buff your good for up to 2 hours of special spamming fun.

I haven't done one since the days of the 8k Crazed Durni missions.

I haven't done a destroy mission on any of the starter planets in a long time truth be told.

The Explorer missions are a great challenge, but who has time? Unless you are going after a specific type of resource, which you know said creature drops, why bother with them?

The Advanced planets still have great missions, as long as you are in a good group.

I've tried many times to do these missions, they seem fun in that they encourage exploring and hunting specific animals. When I was a scout, they were just rediculously hard to complete. Then when I became a ranger I thought "wohoo! now I can find all the animals I'm supposed to be hunting". Nope, still impossible to complete. Those terminals are useless imho, even for rangers much less scouts.

And I haven't.
