Just completed the quest.... applied my new camo, and the first creature detected me...lol
How effective is camo for you guys ? I noticed that my bone quality was quite low...would this be why its not working too well so far ?

I don't think Kash camo is working properly. I have found I am regularly attacked by creatures, even though they don't break it! Quality of resouces only effects the number of charges when crafting kits, it has no affect on their effectiveness.

I'd say it's completely ineffective. Doesn't work at all. And it doesn't even break (the icon stays up) when the creatures start attacking.

Don't get too proud of this technological terror you have constructed.

It works very well in areas where camo works, like Etyyy. Much faster going when you can just run past the moufs, Chiss, wallugas, etc. en route to where you're going.

It doesn't work at all in certain areas, like much of the Ryatt Trail. Level 3 (wroshyr canopy) is especially strange, you're undetectable from most range, but get within 10 meters and you'll be attacked without breaking camo.

Bear in mind that it has the same problem as camo in general, that until you get your Camoflauge skill high enough it will work less well than maskscent. Past that point it works better and last longer.

Depending on your combat level the creatures in Etyyy wouldn't aggro you anyway. They changed it not too long ago so that low level creatures would not aggro high-level players.

As a note i'd say Kashyyyk was broken as several creatures have attacked me without breaking Mask Scent let alone Camo.

It appears they are either not really creatures or don't care about your scent masking/camo abilities.

Has this been logged as a bug ? I am fairly new to ranger prof, but It seems to be that in general camo does not work as well as it should... It should be fantastic/unbreakable at Master Ranger Level, and useful enough for non-rangers to want to use it.

I tested few kits from Dath to Endor and I was not too impressed. It doesn't work too well for me at master, and it is almost useless for everyone else. (Everyone I made camos for complains about how it never works).

It's usefulness has been nerfed somewhat anyway since the 'grey con' changes. I used to go everywhere with my camo on (yes I was a bit smelly ) Now I only really need to bother on Dathomir or if I'm doing faction stuff (it works against stormies). If it worked on Kash it would be REALLY useful for some of the high end stuff there, grrr....

I've had the exact opposite results that you guys have had with the Camo.

i am NOT a ranger. I have Exploration 4 (for BH)and Survival 4 (for Squad Leader).

Draknev made me a Kashyyyk Camo kit to use. I applied a Camo kit while down in the Shadowlands with him and some of this guildies while we went after the Katarn (which is totally kicked his butt). We had to get past level 80-82 Gotal NPCs, and i could walk right up to em, and slap em around. The only time the Camo broke was when the timer for it ran out and i had to reapply.

And it wasn't just NPCs. The level 80-82 Minstyngars down there didn't detect me either.

The Webweavers on the Webweaver Trail don't detect me either, but the Feral Wookiees and the Blackscale Guards in the Webweaver Trail do detect me.

i've only tried these kits on those two Rryatt Trail levels. i'll have to have Drak make me some more kits to further test.

Interesting. I may try applying by toolbar instead of /conceal and see of that makes a difference. Of course I probably wont get XP then though
