If you want money ranger is a good profession, ask us docs we need rangers bad. Specialize in avian meat and you're good, just find a doc and hunt for him and one friend only. Then you will have money, free buffs, and fun along the way

ok yesterday I mastered ranger (not a hologrind was a personal choice) but today I am strongly considering giving up the skill. I just dont feelhappy about being a ranger =( even tough I wanted to be a master of concealement from the begining (a la endor raiding party)that does jungle skirmishes and things like that.It was just yesterday thatI mastered the proffession and already I feel like I am wastinga big part of my skill points (wanted to do medic/combat medic as well).

Does anyone have any good reason to persuade me not to give up the skill just yet?

Curently my template is master riflemen, master scout, master ranger with the rifle branch in marksmen of course.

I was thinking removing ranger and a portion of the scout tree to get master medic/combat medic.

What do you guys (the rangers, the few proud ones) think I should do?

I am sorry, but we can't. You will do what you want and what you feel is best. Everyone needs a change every now (believe me, I change my mind about my combat profession weekly). And I must admit, other than "being a Ranger," there is not much we can offer you as you have Mastered and still don't find it appealing.

Calculus_Entropyis spot on...

If Ranger is not fulfilling enough at the moment, come back to us after we are overhauled (whenever that might happen) and see if the profession stacks up at that time.

I like ranger because the only thing I like to do in this game is hunt. You can make good money hunting and harvesting rare resources in large quantity. You are a support class and work much better in groups.

Just so you know, getting Master CM/Master Rifleman requires giving up all of scout. As for keeping Ranger, that is up to you. I can tell you that you miss a lot of the little things after dropping it (crawl speed, tracking, etc) but most of the professions out there can bea lot of fun. I know I will be coming back to Ranger after I've finished the holos, though. But I had a hard time giving it up to begin with.

nope sorry, I can't persuade you .. I'd love to be able to but unfortunatly prior experiance has shown that "hanging on" is only going to make you tired and wear you out .. enjoy something else . we'll let you know when the ranger ship is back in order 8)

I wish I could. I was half way to Master Ranger (scout was my 1st prof), and quit because it was getting boring. THEN i started holowhoring, and got Ranger for my 2nd holo. I'm 2.2.2.2 currently, and am so bored I spend more time crafting with my other account than hunting. I could stand it if it wasn't for the 100 camping hours I have to go for the camping line. By far the stupidest 'bubble line' in the game. XP for doing nothing. I can think of no way to increase the xp, more people doesnt help, healing doesn't help. I'm pretty close to just deleting my char and starting over. bah

Trust me, DONT LOOK AT ANY HOLO's!

Remember guys...I think that it is the road traveled which gives us the greatest joy...anyone worth their salt will understand that a child given the authority of an adult would not be as sucessful as an adult who has grown into his maturity. It is the road.

If I were given all the powers of a Master Ranger the minute I opened the SWG wrappings...what would be next? And would I be as effective as I am now that I have grown into my trapping/hunting skills...knowing when to hunt and when to run...which traps work well together...etc.

You have to like your profession enough to do this...otherwise you are just grinding away, hoping for something better when you master the profession. The 'better' should be 'while' you are mastering the profession.

Keep checking the different professions until you find yourself.

I love being a master ranger. With my first character I knew thats what I wanted to be. Now I have 3 accounts. My first is still a master ranger. When Im playing my other toons, I miss my tracking, my terrain negotiation and my crawl speed. I can harvest lots of resources for my crafter and find good animals to sample for my be. LOL, I loved being a ranger so much I coudnt give it up. Had to get more accounts

Ditto to several of the above posts.

I am a Ranger because I can't think of anything I would rather be. Sure a few more points in Medic might be nice, but not essential.

If you feel like you are "wasting" your time.. then I suggest you find something else. No sense playing some character you don't enjoy.

Just some advice...don't fall into the trap of trying to "maximize" your character or make yourself as "uber" as you can. Even if you get there, nerfs and patches will eventually pop your balloon.

Its far more interesting to play a flawed character that is very strong and unique in one or two areas, and lacking(maybe severely) in others. This will drive you to form friendships and partnerships with complimentary flawed characters and you will have loads more fun doing it.

Have fun, don't worry about being "the best".. just be "yourself", if you understand what I am saying.
