Thread: Rangers Image Designers need your help
Conceal .. or camo kits will no longer work on NPCs... I don't know if they've nerfed it yet.. but they told us they will.
I think conceal works like mask scent... you have a certain % of not getting detected by an agro.
Someone will surely correct me if I'm wrong
I think you are right, no matter how good you are at something, you can still fail. So it can still break.
I doubt the Devs would give a camo to npcs to another class when they have told us it wasn't intended and will be getting removed from us... but stranger things have happened.
Shoot for the moon, and good luck.

that's true... and like I said, you never know what they will do.
The disguise to fool faction scanners sounds pretty darn cool for an ID vs something like the camo we have now. If I was an ID I would push for the faction disguise as it seems to fit better... but I am not, so will just wish them luck with what they decide to go for.

What you seem to be proposing is a system where the NPCs still see you, but they don't think you're that guy they hate who has -5000 standing with them. This is a completely different system from conceal, which makes it so they don't see you at all, except when it fails.
A point of caution, though: Many NPCs will attack you even if you are at 0 standing with them. If you were really at 5000 with them, and it was reduced to 0, would that cause them to attack you when they normally wouldn't?
The Ranger's conceal could be made to work from a distance, such as 25 meters or greater, or an increased chance to break as one approaches. Then both it and a disguise kit would have their uses without hurting one another. Of course the devs don't want it working at all for us, so this is a moot point.
No matter how you look at it, in the wild the camo kit should work on NPCs and critters. Now you can work out how it will work on NPC and how it works on critters but work it should. Bottom line. I will be saying that to my dieing day. In a city/rualsetting you can get away with a disguise trick, even in the wild for just NPC but WE should be at home there, and unless that NPC hooligan has a "ranger" or "scout" attatched to thier name someplace they should be even MORE clueless then a critter with hightened senses.
I don't mind ID's having the ability but I VEHEMENTLY disagree that we loose it to them. Not in the wild, sorry. I would like to add WE SHOULD BE FIGHTING LIKE MAD TO GET THIS ABILITY BACKIN OUR CAMO KITS. YESTERDAY.
btw, this has been removed, not might be. Been that way for more then a month.

well, I think camo kits are overpowered as it is. I can drive by an aggro critter on my bike and not be spotted? come on, that's just weird. Camo kits should only work if you're moving slowly outside of a certain range from a MOB, and they should work against NPCs and creatures alike. Camo kits and maskscent should not work while driving around on a repulsorlift driven vehicle, but I don't see that changing.
...snip...
LOL, Mine breaks EVERY 5th critter. How is this overpowered? It currently does NOT work on NPC.
Why don't an onrushing vehicle scare critters anyway? Perhaps not the big ones but c'mon.
Fine, I give you dropping it on a bike and you give me works on NPC on foot. Deal? I'd also like to change that every 5 to every 50 when you get the chance kthanxbye.

So I'm asking how does the proposed Disguise kits differ from Ranger's /conceal & camo kit?
If you had a -5000 thug standing and a camo kit on would a yellow Meatlumps ignore you?
