I read the whole thing, and not one mention of Rangers.

Patience is our virtue I guess.

No ranger love, but I am kind of excited about most of the changes. Movefurnup and real lights are much more exciting than I want them to be.

"but I am kind of excited about most of the changes."

Indeed. There may not be anything big specifically for us, but the other changes are definitely cool.

I really shouldnt post anything before my morning coffee...

As a whole, the 7th publish seems to be very positive for the game as a whole, and I cannot wait for the Geonosian Lab to open up.

Hmmm, I see a stick, but no carrot.

Ah well.

The rest of the stuff is, though largly unusable by myself, interesting.

I think we get something in publish 8... was that when we get some camp changes?

My impression was that we were promised camp upgrades "sometime in the future" but as to a specific publish date...I dont remember.

I was just curious as to whether or not the proposal by NRaas (ranger correspondant) for changes to the Ranger profession has been reviewed by the Devs. As a master ranger now, and apparently from what I understand they are in short supply on tempest, I would love to see the proposal by NRaas implemented. I don't plan on going Jedi even though I have enough holos to guide me through my first four professions to attain my fscs. I plan on remaining a Master Ranger and as that is the case, I and the rest of the rangers out there would love to see this "Outdoorsman" plan put into effect. Thank you in advance for any response to this topic TH.

Yes

Last Thursday or Friday, there was in internal email to the effect of Ranger/Scout camps and I was able to the proposal in the discussion. Its too early to know what can and cannot be included, but the team was exposed to the proposal on a timely basis.

I do my best to do that with everything. When it comes up, I voice your opinions. Sometimes I spice it up in my poststo make the forums an interesting place to come and debate, but I alwaysbring player issues to the table. When debates are passionate, people tend to make stronger arguments and that always makes for fun posting and good feedback for the devs.

In short though, the camp stuff is in the works. When I know exactly what it is, Ill follow up.

hrmph... I would really like to see some improvements towards the entire scout/ranger idea... Traps are makeshift grenades, camps serve no real purpose as of yet that most people can go without, and Camo... well camo i really like

ATM I'm not to impressed with the total lack of interest that they are showing us. Maybe I'm wrong and they are right on it trying to balance it, but at least give us a little notification

Ahem, got a little off track but yes, Pub 7 looks interesting.

As most Rangers who have chosen this profession and have remained with it will probably agree, we have the patience (unlike some of those in other professions, *cough* jedi...ahem...as I was saying, we have the patience to wait for the changes to our beloved profession. It still amazes me to this day when I pull out a High Tech camp and someone who has been playing the game from day one says "WOW. THIS IS AWESOME!!!" Pretty sad when Rangers are so few and far between that no one really knows what we can do. Or is it. I prefer to think that those who choose this profession have a level of maturity and dignity about them that they will not resort to complaining and bitching and moaning to get changes to their profession. I know I can wait. Does that make it right that the Devs not pay attention to us? No. But what can we do? I am one of those who fully support the "Outdoorsman" proposal. How can you not? The amount of detail put into that and the work involved in organizing all those ideas is just tremendous. NRaas, you have my utmost thanks for being probably the best correspondent there is. I like the fact that I don't need a camp to call my vehicle anymore, it was lame anyway. Though it does take something away from this profession. So now are we to be just glorified slaves to those people who need animal resources? Tell me what else we can truly do, cause I am having a hard time figuring it out. Not that it matters. I love being a ranger and will ALWAYS be a ranger. In time, changes to our profession will go through. I have faith in that. Till then we wait. Our time will come.

Your friendly neighborhood Ranger,

For what its worth I replied in the Publish 7 Major Features thread in the "In Developement" forum, asking what the plans were/are. I appreciate your guys' ability to see the glass as half full, but I do not see them changing the camps in Publish 7, despite players not needing them any longer. Camps are one of my favorite parts of being a Ranger, so I do take this part a little personally.
