I also agree that it should be focused as Outdoorsman. If someone wants to be like a military ranger, then take some Ranger skills and mix it with a combat class like rifleman or pistoleer or something.

It appears to me that the Devs are focusing on fixing one profession at a time. I believe the first real revamp was Bio-Engineer which from what I understand is just awesome and a lot of fun to do now. Next came Chef and I like what they did with that too. Now we are looking at two whole publishes which seem to center around droid. Good for them, they deserve some lovin. I am sure in time a whole Publish will be centered around Ranger. At least I hope so. Now I believe that remaining constructive and aiding in the efforts to make this profession something better than it currently is the best way for us to get what we want. The Ranger community as well as the squad leaders are, for the most part, two very highly respected communities. We don't complain to get our way. We all continue to suggest ideas to better our professions and never resort to whining. Being a Ranger isnt to me about all the skills I have available to me, though it would be nice to have more. It is about being a part of something I believe in and can follow. The Ranger profession is not UBER, therefore those with no patience who want to just go slaughter everything in sight get bored with it and leave. Thats fine. It leaves those of us who believe in the ranger ideals to better guide the direction of this profession. We should stay true to our path of being positive and constructive and set a standard for the rest of the community. Rangers lead the way!!!

YAh I must agree that we have the best corrispondent, I mean who els would have put what looks like alot of time and effort into the Outdoorsman idea which I totally and completely back. If you notice I posted that on the concept forums and I still dont think it has been posted on sence, it just shows that we are kind of neglected when it comes to responese from other people who arnt rangers. It seems almost everybody is worried about the jedi class and classes like smuggler and BH that we just are left in theyre dust. But yes our day will come but if it dosent within 2 months after a full year SWG has been out i dought I will trust in the devs ability to fix us at all.

i have been on the path to ranger from day one and have been a master for far longer than i can remember...I do remember the days before camo kits and tracking...no love for the ranger? No we got changes in the first four publishes...including the before mentioned kits and area track...
It is just time for the devs to so love to other profession and yes our time will come again...

Good point, but we are still, in essence, master scouts who can track and harvest more. At this point our camps, aside from the healing bonus, are eyecandy. I do think ranger will be the focus of a change someday. I just hope it's sooner then later. Until then, ranger onward!

... Traps are makeshift grenades
LoL. If any of you remember me, I am Kyyran, the Master Ranger on Chilastra who is currently working on a Wookie named Nokkata on Tempest, who is going Commando. And I have to say: the funny thing is... traps actually work better than grenades, in my experience. Heh, I used to think of Commando as the uber-profession, but I've realized that we can do a whole crapload of damage with the flamer, but that is really the only tree that is any good for us. :-( . But, of course, Ranger is much worse off, and they do need to fix traps. Just wait it out. If you're not having fun, go do something else for a while. Different profession, different character, different game, different hobby... whatever. We'll get there.

Tempest: Nokkata (Commando 2-0-4-0, TKA 0-0-1-0, and other stuff)
