Just curious if any Master Rangers use traps ever?

It seems that with the 12 different kinds, they keep clogging my inventory when i keep them in stock.....

Not me. Too slow in groups and death traps solo. You melee guys with buffs and sweep moves might like them, however

I haven't used them in a long time. I made some in crates and carried them for a while, now they sit in my bank with my camo kits. Refer to Fred's post for the reasons why I don't carry them any more.

Nope. I tend to work as a sniper (with a pistol, though), killing a creature from prone before it attacks me. If I'm too slow, and it does come after me and BAF's, a nice phecnacine dart can come in handy.

I haven't used traps for awhile. The state effect traps are the only ones I ever used, but with Teras Kasi, I am able to perform longer lasting state effects without the traps mussing up my inventory.

The area effect traps do come in handy (they do work rather well when I am swarmed), so I keep one of each in my inventory... But that's it.

I don't currently use traps, although I have crates of them (mostly in the bank now). They take up valuable inventory space and don't really add anything to the fights my group engages in. Some of the Scout traps can be useful in certain situations but with the right group of professions they are unnecessary.

I still use traps, but only the glow wire, which lowers melee and ranged defenses...makes them a little easier for me to kill.

When I wasnt able to solo a creature, the adhesive mesh gave me a good headstart to run from them, but now i hop in my speeder and scoot away.

I carry phen darts and glow wires. I usually don't use the phen dart unless I'm soloing and not buffed out. Sometimes I'll use it if I'm with another ranged player and we don't want to get chewed on. Other than that, there isn't much use of traps in groups as other people have said. If I was to drop Master Ranger, trapping would be the first discipline to go.

Phecnecine darts are the only ones I carry. With a usage rate of about two per month, I'll probably be stashing them soon.

Every so often I'll use a Glow-Wire Trap in a small group if we're fighting big mobs. Sometimes solo I'll use an Adhesive Mesh trap if I get more adds than I think I can handle. But at this point, I never really have a problem without them.

In fact I'm considering just dropping the Ranger Trapping line and putting the points into more Medic and BH weaponry boxes. I'm no Bounty Hunter, but their weapons sure are nice Besides, Trapping IV was the first line I filled, and I hit that before even having Tier 1 in the other three. Easy to get back if it ever becomes useful.

I try to keep some Phenc Darts on hand to slow down creatures when I'm soloing. Pretty useful for a Pistoleer.

I constantly use glow wires. The faster I can mow down a critter, the faster I can harvest. But I have yet to use the other traps outside of grinding up the tree for Master.

I must be the odd man out. I use traps all the time. Bleed, bleed, peace. Here comes critter. Shoot, pdart, and when in range, KD. Move azz out of critter range, continue to shoot. If he chases, more pdart and move.

Should critter BAF, 2 pdarts, one per, and run. Glow wire on critters with resistances.

Once in a great while, ad mesh. Sonic traps sometimes, just to mess with people, same deal with Flares.

Oh yeah, traps have been maxxed for freaking ever. I love traps. I want to trap the living snot out of pets someday. Here Mr. Rancor, pdart, ldart, glowwire, KD, bleed, run, bleed, ad mesh. Nite nite big ugly.

A Ranger can dream, can't he. And my scenario works on wild rancors, will work on pets.
