Here I am one of the most anti-jedi players in SWG. And i've chasing PoI's around for the last couple days. Im looking at the warren knowing that its 2/3 of what i need to get the old man visit. Which of course will take place outside a city sometime between now and after the Ranger Revamp if the forums are to be believed. Trying my damnest to get the stupid FS slot because i know that im on my way to padawan.
Please someone tell me what infected my brain to do this? I got into the grinders state of mind about PoI's. I didnt stop look around and enjoy the content of the game. No I rushed in bitched when i couldnt find the trigger and left.
Im reading the SWG playskool forums, unemployment allows this, and every thread about publish 10 includes a bunch of 1 starred "What about the 600 replies about the jedi .." Plus knowing full well that Ranger again will have its revamp pushed back past JTL and the first and second parts of the revamp. Please please tell me whats happened to cause me to want a glow stick?

I have a hard decision to make with Canon fodder. Right now ima ranger dabbler with 4/0/4/0. But i also have CH 3/4/0/4 allowing me levl 43 pets. I have a cat that I use as my hunting partner that i dont want to give up. Hes saved me many times unbuffed. But the call of Master Ranger (would be the 3rd time to master as you all know) is like a siren from the deep. She keeps tempting me with.. with what? Why be a master ranger i ask myself. And its because of the community and the way we treat ourselves in game and out. We are unlike any other profession in this game. I was at Nym's Stronghold today chasing a PoI. And another Ranger i have never met waved to me. I had my "wayfarer" title up. A title only another Ranger would understand. Its like two bikers passing each other on the road each knowing that what they are doing is special. But to give up Nomad my 11k Light 60 kinectic Battle Cat (who btw i take very good care of as i roleplay my CH part) in the favor more trapping and the HTFB seems.. a waste. Especially with the upcoming balance which will make having a CH tank that much more important again.
Im drawn my fellow rangers. I want my title back because i want to roam the galaxy free again. But I dont want to lose my guardian in game. And I will make these my game thoughts and get off the damned jedi kick. I never ground for it. Why start now

*Dangles a glow stick in front of Fodder* (No one tell him it's broken.)
You should have enough skill points for both master CH and master Ranger, yes? If those two professions are important to you, what about the other professions that you aren't mentioning?
*Tries to avoid making the "Luke, I am your Fodder" joke and pats herself on the back for succeeding*

Trying hard to make the same type ofdecision myself. If I do the Warren, I should be glowing....
and I want to keep Phe'nix a Ranger...but then again, I don't want to have to go through all the same stuff with a second toon....especially when they made the cycles so damn long. I might make Phe'nix a Jedi....but then he'd become my secondary toon.
I just wish that there was some way to make your secondary character start where your primary one leaves off...make it so that I can be a Ranger w/ Phe'nix again and not have to go through all the cycles with my other slot. In the end, I'll probably keep Phe'nix a Ranger....but I admit...it is tempting.

Oh and yes you can be MCH/MR with points left over for 3 levels of an elite profession. But im far more effective as a ranger as a master swordsman. Im sure i will be mastering ranger again this week. I just want my title back

I know what you mean. I was already surging this morning, and I figured finishing off the rebel themepark might do it. I'd never gotten around to finishing it - just doing a few missions here and there. But I headed to lok and ended up rushing through the rest of the park. I was barely reading the text and didn't even click the secondary questions (non essential stuff that just gives more detail, but still interesting). Alas, this didn't result in glowing. I never grinded a profession or rushed through anything, and I don't enjoy playing that way. So, I feel a little let down that I rushed through the rest of the themepark just to get a badge.
The Warren will probably help me get glowing, but I'm not going to rush it. I'll get it or other badges eventually. Once I do, I still don't plan to go jedi. I'm just hoping to get some of the force sensitive skills. If I don't reach Padawan and unlock my second slot, so be it.. I've already got an alt account who is a master architect. Well, two alt accounts if you count my wife's master doc/pistoleer.

Well, I have to say I smugly was waiting for the patch and not running around to get my last remaining badges. I wasn't going to rush it. Then my husband logged on Paks to see her status and I was "faint." FAINT???? WHAT DO YOU MEAN FAINT??? I'm a RANGER! I've done EVERY FRIKKEN BADGE OUT THERE! Ok, well maybe not Nym or the Corvette but HONESTLY!
I guess I wasn't quite as blase as I thought I was!
Anyway, I'll be going for it. As soon as I can figure out how to unbug my Nym quests. It's content! And you get cool stuff for doing the missions! And maybe, just maybe, in two or three years I'll unlock my second character.

I did the /check thing this afternoon when P10 finished dribbling down my phone line. It said "There's a special bus for people like you". I actually don't want a jedi, I'm not sure I even want the added hassle of FSness. So, that's alright, I can go back to rocking to and fro on the corner mumbling .
Except, I'm not. I spent the evening doing Nym's, which if you are a Ranger is hilarious. No armour, no buffs, just maskscent and camo as appropriate. Only fired my pistol twice becuase the 'if its red, shoot it dedd' eejits round me were intent on killing anything targetable and that just makes the npc's restive.
Then went and walked through the Warren, sticking to the wall where the ATST was and /burst past the minigun turret jic I hadn't really switched it off. Missed one bit of evidence right at the start, but am taking a crew through tomorrow night for the heck of it and will pick that up.
THEN went over to Jabba's to get the Corvette mission but the mission giver seemed to think I needed the rest of the night off and insisted I was working for someone already.
What sort of weird jedi mind trick has been worked on me to get me doing dumba%%ed quests as if my life depended on it?
Am heading off to TC for a few days R&R, lol. Gonna go stalk people on my friends list and make weird noises from the treeline when ever they put a camp up

Best fun I'm having just now is teaming up with friends to help them get to the glowy stage. I've picked up some nice loot from splattering NPCs, something I don't usually do (well, if I can't skin, flesh and fillet them, why kill them unless its self defence).
Have used my rangerly tracking skills to find various npc's, mostly to help level faction points up. Have even been running around in armour, buffed and ... urgh... sooner I get back to hunting beasties the better.
Looking forward to seeing the freshly glowing getting stressed out over their new -ve Sith FP tho.
schadenfreude.

JB says"Call me a night light, I glow"... then again, it could be from the beans he had for dinner.
Am I waiting on the old man... sorta kinda not really.
I did the POIs and the other stuff cause it was there, and after all, Rangers should have all the POIs anyhow.
Now they (the omniscient they) say to will wait and see an old man. What wait, Fred is here!!
(oh rats, I am older than Fred)
anyhow, takers on if I try and gank the oldster when he finally shows??

No word could better describe today then that. Now to fiqure out if its worse to be the people doing the hologrind to PoI's. Or if knowing why that words in the current public slang is worse

Get 3 themeparks, the 2 warrens and a bunch of POI's and you're glowing.
I'm not going to be a jedi but I want to unlock my 2nd slot to make a Trando Ranger (which I will get the scout FS bonuses too, if I'm having fun that long). Going to mess around with groundbased profs on my main char and make him a rebel pilot for a living.
