Thread: 250k carnivore meat? 300k?

Hi,
I've been looking through the Intrepid trade forum and I'm astounded at the amount of creature resources for sale.

The current Dath carnivore meat drop on Intrepid is very good -- all stats over 800. But the resource switch was fairly recent -- less than a week old. These posts were made, I would guess, about 5 days or so after the switch.
Am I missing out on something? How can anyone possibly amass that much meat in such a short time? During a recent rancor hunt with my guild, I managed to gather about 10k units, over the full buff. That's using veghash, and I'm a master ranger. To get 300k in 5 days of real time is almost unfathomable. I don't know about the 250k fellow, but the other individual has profs listed, and none of them are rangers.
Are the other profs just that much better at killing that they can exceed our own harvest rates by that much? Or is this probably some guild donating all meat to a vendor?
Any thoughts are appreciated -- I am still in shock!

There were probably multiple hunters and many in game hours involved.

I was hunting Rancors on Danth Monday night for a guild mate. In one buff session with veghash I harvested almost 30k (29605) without much effort. Stick to Mutant and Enraged Rancors and harvest almost 500 units per kill. It is possible I could have gotten more but Enraged Bull Rancors do a dizzy knockdown that really gets to my Trandoshan. In 5 days of dedicated hunting I think 300k could be done without much trouble.

i am from interpid. i only have hunting 4. I have harvested over 420k already. about 70k meat per set of buffs, i only hunt solo
enraged rancors and bullsdrops 300 to 400 meat per. 1 wild lair is 10k to 13k in meat.
i have also harvested over 1.1 million leathery hide from rancors before.
rancors are big droppers and there are always so many at rancor valley

I can pull 40-60k herbivore meat from gurks during a 3 1/2 hour set of buffs on Lok(that's including random lairs and at least 15 gurks per lair...with my AT-ST out...If you go more than 2k away from your AT-ST though, it acts as if you're in a player group and you harvest 60%) Medium gurks yield anywhere from 70-90 meat per, fat gurks yield up to 100-120.
I don't usually hunt through more than one buff set per night, but I could manage 2 sessions if I were inclined to do so...that's 80-120k meat per night.
I haven't hunted rancors in a long time, so i don't know how much meat they give, but assuming 250 meat for a fat rancor while grouped(just an estimate) with 6 rancors per lair, that's still 1500 meat per lair, same as gurks....

yes enraged rancor missions spawns only 6 per lair. i only hunt wild spawns, it spawns 20 to 30 per lair

There's an area on Dath known (apparenlty to all jedi) as rancor ally. Pretty much the area is full of wild rancor lairs or wild non-lair spawns. When I say full, I mean you finish off a lair and there's another one about 100m away, or you run for your life from the critters of one lair right into two more lairs. It's very dangerous, even if you are buffed, but you can harvest tons of stuff there. I got 50k of carnivore meat in three hours once. Might do a search on the jedi forums for the exact wp.
Also, endor leathery is really easy to get - blurgs drop tons of the stuff. I got 40k of that in one buff session a few nights ago -- wasn't running missions, just area-tracking and blasting things.

Its 1500m from the Sarlacc pits. Rancor moutain was how i always thought about it. It doesnt seem to be affected by the population on the planet. But of course now with "The Village" the Dant lag may move to Dath

I would wager that they were either group hunting as Calc has suggested, or they are master riflemen. A master rifleman can drop even an enraged rancor in pretty short order. Hang out in Rancor Alley for a few days and you'll be able to feed a small planet. Riflemen can toss tons of damage, and usually can do so with little risk. WIth /headshot3 and a good rifle, a rancor will die just as it begins to aggro. With a little luck, his mates won't have noticed and you can start in on them.
Don't get me wrong, however, that is a butt-load of meat. I'd like to see them get that much avian meat. From Corellia. Let the great rasp eradication begin!

I used to play with a guy in World War II Online named "Number 6" and he used to use the quotes. When I joined netflix the Prisoner DVD's were available to get. So I did and watched all the episodes. I really wish i hadnt watched the last one. After you learn why he made it like that you understand the meaning. But it just doesnt fit the rest of the series.
But we cant be the only players who heard "The Village" and didnt think of the show. Its even funnier when you think about the old man, think number 2, whos giving out special privalages to those who follow his rules.

Yeah, Dathomir carnivore comes in very very fast. I got 50k in about 2 hours with just myself and an occational bite of Veghash. My sweetie was rather surprised when I brought her a huge container of meat...
