Thread: Scout xp -> Force Sensitive xp

***Warning: Force sensitive spoilers below***

Force sensitive skills need Force sensitive xp. To get Force sensitive xp, you convert other types of xp. There are 4 types of FS xp corresponding to 4 different trees of FS skills. The scouting related skills are in the Reflex tree (needing Reflex xp). Scouting related xp (scouting xp, trapping xp, and wilderness survival xp) can only be converted into Sense xp. This means that we cannot use our scouting related xp to gain the scouting related FS skills. Is this intended? If so, why? I personally think that the scouting xp should be convertable into either Reflex xp or Sense xp (like can currently be done for all the combat related xp types and Reflex xp and Combat Prowess xp). For most professions, the xp you use is related to the skills you gain. Combat bonuses come from combat xp. Healing bonuses come from healing xp. Crafting bonuses come from crafting xp. Why can't scouting bonuses come from scouting xp?

Tell me about it, ive been arguing this on the test forum for abit now but i think people were too rapped up in the combat lines and weapons xp/combat xp debate to give a blind bit of notice.

Oh, and CH xp seems to have the same problem (it might be a bit harder to classify CH xp but they are based off of the Scout tree).

Did I mention that the Sense quests are based on medical skills and surveying skills? It's a bit hard to unlock the trees that need scouting xp if you only have scout based skills. The first quest for a sense based skill is meant to need a Master Doctor to do (people say not to try it unless you have 10 points of medical crafting experimentation)....

Any chance we could get some sort of word from the Devs on this, Calc? Either that it is intended (possibly with a reason) or that they will try and fix it when they get a chance?

I haven't unlocked FS yet, so this is a bit confusing to me. Are you saying that in order to use the Force to enhance our Scouting and Ranger abilities--we need to be Doctors?

No. Scouting Force sensitive skills currently require combat related experience (unlocking can be done without combat, though, if you have Dathomir camo). It's just that the only skill currently available (i.e. that you can unlock this cycle [3 weeks long]) that you can use scouting xp for requires Doctor tounlock (I think it's Master Medic to start and you need Master Doctor or a Master Doctor friend to actually complete it).

Combat isn't a problem for me; I'm a Master Ranger/Master TKA. As for the other part--do *I* need to be the one to start it? I mean, am I going to have to go drop my VERY hard won Master TKA to go Master Medic to do it, or can a medic/doctor friend of mine do that part?

(Did someone in SOE forget that Ranger is not a combat class?)

I'm sure this will be more clear to me once I unlock and can browse the skill trees myself; thank you for putting up with my confusion until then.

Morning guys

Nemo, Ive been thinking about this for a while now and think i have a reason why they made it so scout xp doesnt get you the scout skills in reflex.

Its simply because a scout/ranger would get much more fs xp per kill to put towards combat boxes in fs trees than a normal combatant.

For instance a stacker kills a creature and gets 3k weapons xp (100fs) 300 combat xp (100fs) so 200fs total.

We go in and get 160 scout xp (20fs) from mask kill it, get 3k weapons (100fs) 300 combat (100fs) harvest it and get say 400 scout xp (50fs). So from the same kill we would have got 270fs instead of 200 all into reflexes.

I we had this set up im sure everyone would just grind scout to get scout xp aswel which i wouldnt like. Yes its a shame we cant get scout bonuses for scout xp but it would also give us a massive bonus over others which everyone would click onto and use.

It's really lame that you HAVE to be atleast a master medic to even start the quest. I had to go with Combat prowess only to find out I got a reward I can't use for anything.

Uh. Are there any branches I can do as a Ranger that *don't* require me to go into Medic? It took me forever to get TKM and I *just* got it, I really don't relish going through all of that again.

Clear thinking Owen. There's another argument for not grouping scout xp with weapon/combat: the huge amount of grinding and quality resources that would be dumped on the market with all the fs-grinders.

What we may be missing is that the next set of quests will have a scout orientedquest in order to openthe line you want.

I opened the combat line, more or less by accident, then found it is one quest per cycle, or this cycle anyhow.

However, my toon profile says I am getting FS XPeven tho I have not opened that line.

Back to killing, trapping and harvesting. At this rate (busting butt at 10k FS per day) it will take a while.
