Thread: Scout xp -> Force Sensitive xp
BTW, what trees are everyone going for? I am going for Enhanced Reflexes Master and the melee lines of Combat Prowess. I never pvp so the rest of that stuff doesnt much matter to me.

Morning guys
Nemo, Ive been thinking about this for a while now and think i have a reason why they made it so scout xp doesnt get you the scout skills in reflex.
Its simply because a scout/ranger would get much more fs xp per kill to put towards combat boxes in fs trees than a normal combatant.
For instance a stacker kills a creature and gets 3k weapons xp (100fs) 300 combat xp (100fs) so 200fs total.
We go in and get 160 scout xp (20fs) from mask kill it, get 3k weapons (100fs) 300 combat (100fs) harvest it and get say 400 scout xp (50fs). So from the same kill we would have got 270fs instead of 200 all into reflexes.
I we had this set up im sure everyone would just grind scout to get scout xp aswel which i wouldnt like. Yes its a shame we cant get scout bonuses for scout xp but it would also give us a massive bonus over others which everyone would click onto and use.

Good thinking JB.
I can remember i quest on tc2 that needed you to track down a person, a lost villager, im not sure what tier this was for and what tree but i used /areatrack to find him.
This is the scout skill related quest. I'm really happy about this part of it (although it is annoying that they changed the waypoint update to be so close that it usually shows up before you reach the original waypoint--but it's probably because the huge number of spawns makes the server slow in loading up the mission spawn).

What we may be missing is that the next set of quests will have a scout orientedquest in order to openthe line you want.
I opened the combat line, more or less by accident, then found it is one quest per cycle, or this cycle anyhow.
However, my toon profile says I am getting FS XPeven tho I have not opened that line.
Back to killing, trapping and harvesting. At this rate (busting butt at 10k FS per day) it will take a while.

You are getting FS xp for it but you are not very likely to open those lines. The skills in those lines might be useful (Luck, Persuassion, Surveying, and Healing) but it will be somewhat difficult to earn the unlock for them for a Ranger. You will need to do some surveying (for luck and surveying, I think), healing (for the healing branch, I think), or medical crafting (persuassion branch, I think) in order to ever use that Force sensitive experience. I personally am strongly considering Luck and Persuassion (I actually used a free unlock to get the Luck branch) but thereis no way for me to unlock those skills without changing my professions (the persuassion tree supposedly needs Master Medic to start the quest and a Master Doctor to make the necessary items for the quest). So the majority of Rangers will just end up burning their Scout xp for skills they will never unlock. Seems a bit unfair.

It is an odd way to to do it but I have to say I do like the way they have set it up. As a TK Tracker I can do what I do like normal and cash in on the xp I gain as I go. I have always thought that extra xp was wasted. This way I can not grind a thing to get FS but do it like normal... just hunting and fighting. Sounds good to me.

Is that the quest from Whip? I did it last night and had to kill a bunch of Sith(5 i think) then talk to a prisoner and take him back to the village. Then repeat that 5 times then it said I unlocked the reflex survival branch and i got a neat statue #3 of 4.
I haven't really been reading anything about this because I wanted it to be a suprise but now since i haven't I'm kinda confused. was the quest I did last night the cycle quest. Is there more then 1 quest to choose from each cycle but you can only choose 1? Also one of guild mates got some free skills then went out and got more xp and wanted to learn a new skill...he had enough xp for the skill but the guy said he couldnt teach him anything. So I'm assuming after you get free skills you still have to unlock the ability to learn skills from that branch?
Sorry for all the questions. Feel free to answer me or just send me links to stuff if you know any
Thanks

Thanks,
1 more question....Since I've unlocked the survival branch. When the cycle shifts and I'm not done with the branch does that branch stay unlocked for me or do i need to wait and redo the quest later? For some reason I have a feeling if I don't finish the branch I'm going to be waiting a while. Oh and what the hell should I do with these 1 stack resources I'm getting? I'm running out of room since i get 1 almost everytime i kill a sith. Are people starting to buy them?
The branch will stay unlocked forever (supposedly). Don't worry about losing it. As for the resources, they are used in a later crafting quest (supposedly). You probably won't need them but someone you know might.

>On an interesting note, I see once you have Novice in a branch, senses for example, there is nothing stopping me using my scouting xp to go for Persuasion even though I haven't done a quest for persuasion. Once you get novice you can choose one of the four fs trees in that branch.
The other branches in the same tree look open, but I don't think you can actually get training for one of them unless you do the relevant unlock quest for it.
