Thread: Using PSG with modded clothing

Do you think adding a PSG and wearing just modded clothing would work well? I was thinking of doing the non-decay thing to a good PSG and then hunting in just my modded clothes using the protection of the PSG as an added bonus. UnfortunatelyI know nothing of using PSG's. Any advice?

PSGs don't protect against kinetic damage (I am about 95% sure), so they won't help for hunting critters. It would be as good as having no protection at all.

The simplest armor for kinetic damage is going to be Ubese...

Unless you are lucky enough to have the RIS armor... which has the encumberance of ubese, and protections close to composite.

I have a set of Chitin armor with 56% kinetic... which, I think is pretty close to Ubese and the price and encumberamce were better. But I am an armor noob - good ubese might be much better than 56%.

Ahhh..Agon missed the exciting stuff we learned a few months ago! Apparently you can get 80% Kinetic Padded armor (but yeah, probably similar encumberance to Ubese) and you can get Chitin armor in the >50% Kinetic range if you have the right resources. These have not been proven to me yet, BTW. I had an AS trying to achieve this, but he went AWOL .

But I digress...

Good or even bad ubese with advanced segments is better and lighter then Chitin. Plus the jacket takes the bicep positions as well.

But i just prefer the look of Chitin. It LOOKS like armor.

GAH! You never told me that! So, I guess the >50% Kinetic ChitinI just mentioned IS possible .

oh cool!

too bad the padded armor helmet looks so silly.

I have always liked the look of the chitin armor, something very natural and organic about it. The ubese armor i dont like the look of...

but for the best bang for your buck, i stand by ubese.

Well, yeah. Plus it is pretty hard to find armor that isn't Composite or Ubese, so Ubese is best.

But, since Jaxus was asking about PSGs, this whole hijack is moot.

Hmm the PSG I have has a Kenetic rating on it, are they broken or something?

They had shifting stats, but I thought they had fixed that. One thing, you can have them sliced (again, 95% sure), so that may help.I thought they were supposed to be heavy on the ranged weapon damamge type resists, but I guessI was wrong .

Also, you can delete the PSG and get your decay kit back (after you use it, of course), so there isn't a lot of risk involved. I would say, just try it.

As an ex-smuggler before I saw the sense of Ranger'dom, you can indeed slice a PSG. If you get an encumbrance slice it does nothing (as they have no encum) but an effectiveness slice will work on all the stats... typically my very cool 69% energy one got encumbrance

I've heard rumour of kinetic PSG's but never actually seen one, can anyone confirm these exist plz?

Try SWGCraft. Is this for your veteran reward? I think SWGCraft has a record of all reported spawns on each server. I havent looked myself though so I cant tell you exactly where to go.
