Just curious about this. Let's assume devs won't listen and push it forward as it is, giving soloist a penalty and the group a bonus, not including the person who gives the bonus to the group (or only in a lesser extent).
1) For heaven's sake, join a group
2) Never... I'll keep on going solo
3) I will find a good hubby/friend that has same level (mscout/mscout, mranger/mranger) and we group together (a group of 2).
My personal would be 3... I'm lucky to know a few good and friendly mrangers as well so that would help out.
If it weren't possible, i'd keep at 2 and get more vegash and even better droids.
No 1??? Prolly never, not even for 1m credits (as a manner of speaking) because the hassle of being in a group does outweigh the minor benefits I receive.
What would you do?

3. Wife's toon is going MS and if this thing hits live her toon will go for 0040 ranger.
I will be considering also my Master status, it may not be worth keeping.

If I want quick cash I grab two solo missions, go and knock out 12k in 10 minutes, get 3k worth of meat. 15k in 10 minutes. This will not change when and if the new changes happen. I do a set of these every day, pays the rent and such.
If I want to have fun, I group with guildies now, we get higher missions and have a good time. Why would that change later on? Oh, they get more harvest? That's good, help a friend. Will I be grouping with just anyone - why would I? I can also see where my tag will change in periods of great harvests to avoid tells.
The point being made by the Devs is they were trying to make Rangers a little more group friendly and to give us a benefit so people would seek us out to group with us. I have no doubts that the final equation will benefit Master Rangers moreso than stackers and others.
Call it intuition, call it reading posts from people in high places, call it the tireless efforts of Owen to get this new change unscrewed up, whatever.

Option 5, I'll try to find a loophole so I can hunt how I choose to hunt and not loose out on harvests just because I'm not playing like SOE tell me to.

Buddy up with another MR and go hide from the "d00d goup with meh" tells.
Heck, I might even go looking for the mixture parrot FOR MYSELF.

I have solo'd for entirely too long. Option 3.5(more than 2)is closer to what i will be doing. The guild i am in does group hunts, which are an absolute blast. Can't really see myself pimping my toon for random group hunts.
If no one happens to be harvesting anything in particular, then i will solo.
Question--- How or why did my name change color, is it number of posts or star ratings on posts? Thanx in advance.

I guess I'll probably be doing a mix of:
- group w/guidlies when they all decide to stop grinding Jedi and go back to playing their characters as characters, no just grind machines, or get thier 2nd slot, or play on their alts
- if I can find any other MRs that play at the same time as me and WANT to, might group up with them for the 40% bonus all 'round
- otherwise it's like I've said previously, it's gonna be me, my cat and my veghash out doing what I do now. Wandering planet to planet, hunting whatever I feel like, or fishing, or gathering milk and eggs, or whatever I happen to want to do at the moment.
I doubt very much I'll be joining any random groups of unknown people to hunt. Too much grief and I don't want to have to argue with people about running in and blinding thumping on lairs and such. If someone wants to LEARN like that nice guy the other night trying to get novice CH and BE, that's great. He tagged along with me, watched how I was hunting, was learninghow to pull just 1 mob from a group and take it down, harvest, etc - great. He got enough XP to get novice CH pretty quickly too, we were taking down lairs of Gurks on Lok.
I see no point in me being a group harvest "buff" for people I don't know and who will just as soon let me get eaten by the mobs we're hunting as anything else, especially if I don't get the same group benefit that I give to others. Or, if I'm REALLY bored, or some idiots get really annoying with tells... I imagine telling them something like "500k upfront just to have me in the group" ought to get them to shut up pretty quickly.

Yeah, I seen that quote thrown around a lot over the past couple of days as a way to get the "no bonus, no penalty" point across.
Sorry, but adding a bonus to grouping in no way "enforces" grouping.
