How do I get certified to use my "Padded Tantel Armor" (or any other armor for what matters)?
I can't wear any armor what so ever... Haven't tried "Bone Armor" yet, though.
Thanks, Xin

armor should give you an option to "refit" on the radial menu... when you use this, you will get to pick what type of armor it will turn into...
as a ranger, you'd want some sort of "battle armor"... i think the game gives you the option of bone or padded...
as for the "padded tantel armor" pieces, these convert with the mods!... my girlfriend tested this last night, and now has a nice set of bone armor boots with mods, heh...
hehe, too many helpful rangers on with nothing to do but peruse the forums...
umm, what they said... too...

Since Oreet is a BH/Pistoleer that means i can use either Recon or Battle armor.
i guess i can't refit my composite into Bounty Hunter Armor though. ![]()
is ubese considered Recon armor? if so, that's what i'll convert my comp into i guess, but it'll be a shame to convert my comp helmet.
Pre CU my comp helm had these stats:
Special Protection
Electricy 80%
Kinetic 80%
Energy 80%
Effectiveness 90%
this armorsmith on Lowca started selling what he called Tri-80 Composite armor. had 80% for 3 special protections, and anywhere from 75% to 80% base effectivness. i got a great effective slice on the helm to cap the effective stats at 90%

That's because most comp was high kinetic with high base resists as well..
"Good" pre-CU Ubese armor was mostly crafted for high kinetic, and sacrificed base resists...
So most pre-cu Ubese is now bad..
But, that doesn't mean Ubese converts to garbage.. just the extremely high Kinetic ubese..
I found some old Ubese in my bank from well over a year ago that I saved, and it coverted very nicely into both recon and assault armor.
Also, if you've ever done the rebel themepark, go search your bank/house for that Ubese helmet and Mabari pants that were quests rewards. They turned out pretty well and have state resist mods on them and high condition. Same for Imperial themepark ST armor, and stuff that was 30% base bought from a faction recruiter. (I wish I had stocked up on that)
