Thread: Rangers Lost in the Wilderness

My fellow rangers, it appears that the lights are being turned out on us and our unique way of life. For the newer rangers and members to the community, there wasan inside joke where we would allude to a post where the last ranger would turn out the lights.

I think this is whats coming.

I want to say that i will be here to turn out the lights for our amazing community, for our profession that didnt highlight our combat prowess, but our minds, our creativity and our knowledge of tactics.

We have had arguments and hilarity, just like a family. We treated outsiders and insiders better than almost any other forum, and we took control of our space and made it ours and we made it unique and fun.

While many of us have had disagreements and heated arguments, we all had each others' back when the fit hit the shan, and several times, it did.

I am profoundly sad and conflicted. I wanted to be the correspondent that filled the role of great past corrs, like Mineras, Nraas, Calculus, and Owen. All of whom had my respect and my friendship. Instead, fate and the devs have conspired against me to be the correspondent that will see the death of Ranger.

For that, i know its not my fault, but its very hard not to think that I failed.

The decisions have been made, and writing is on the wall.

For those of you who are continuing the Ranger lifestyle (but not in SWG) please post here, so i can keep track of the Rangers who have built their ranger cabin out in the wild and have become memories and legends.

Perhaps, in the future our paths can cross again and our exploration can continue. But for now....

If you dont mind, sign out, so we can let the people in charge know that they are losing some of the best people in the game.

Thanks

-Master Ranger Draknev.

I'll be here, as allways. Once ranger, allways ranger.

If it means being only master scout, so be it. I still keep my Ranger tag.

As for other games, i will probably check:

- Guildwars

- DnL

- MEO

- WoW (? maybe)

In short, anywherer Rangererish with Pets if possible

And can SWRangers.com become MMORPRangers.com?

Lets all go there instead and keep thise community alive!?

I will be here when the lights are turned out.

Seems like yesterday that my first character took his first steps in Beta, towards Ranger, near Moenia :/

I will most likely continue my Ranger in WoW. At least Blizzard are dedicted to the professions they've put in their game.

All the best to my fellow Rangers. It's been way too little time we had as Rangers in SWG.

I wish you all the best of luck...

As it stands, Oreet and Teero are paid til January, but that's it for both of them. I won't be logging onto either of them much until them.

If anyone plays WoW, my toon, Oreet, is a level 18 Undead Rogue on the Stonemaul Realm. So look me up if you ever find yourself there.

I'll most likely check out MEO when it launches, so we need to get all the Rangers together into one server as a huge Ranger clan.

And for anyone who wants to keep in contact after all of this is done, feel free to email me. I think my email address is listed in my user profile for the forums by clicking my name. so feel free to drop me a line sometime.

Although I am new to this profession, I always felt that Rangers were the nicest folks ever. The best people picked this profession on my server, and I met a lot of Rangers at the Fan Fest. Those folks were the cream of the crop at the Fan Fest and I enjoyed meeting so many.

My only regret is that I never tried this profession earlier. I was curious about Ranger from the beginning, but kept putting it on the back burner. Once Entertainer had finally belly up, I turned to the one profession I should have had from the beginning.

I will always keep my Master Ranger tag. I will continue to play SWG because of my 2+ year old guild.

I have recently aquired a WoW account, plus I am looking forward to Pirates of the Burning Sea. Not to mention, Dungeons & Dragons Online

Thanks for welcoming me into the group with so much humour and love.

I will be here until July unless something catches my attention but I doubt that will happen. SOE has betrayed my trust and slapped me in the face for the last time. I will most likely be moving on to DDO or MEO(or both) but for now I'm still loggin on to talk to all my guildies about whos going where and also playing Battle Front with the gang

(oh I've offered to hand over the city to any mates left but so far nobody has taken me up on that, but I really dont want to leave any of them out in the cold and it looks like EVERYONE is leaving anyway, but if they dont can I send em your way so at least they have a city to call home if they so wish to join another city? )

I'm already up on the forums for D&L (Pelican523) and MEO (Pelican). I'll keep an eye out for everyone. When those games launch I'll be Gout in both of them.

I plan on sticking it out in SWG, but I may also pick up Dungeons & Dragons Online and play as a Ranger... More than likely, I'll name him WeiQuinn in honor of my first SWG (first MMORPG) character I ever created.

My Ranger/Doc will be missed.... I truely enjoyed playing this character. I have no idea about any of the other games out there (this was my first online game and have been playing since launch) and I might have to look into them at some point but for now.... the cold dark night calls. The sun has finally set on all that we were and had hoped to be, perhaps if you all come across a Grylon in your future travels you'll give me a Howdy and we can excahnge stories and remember a game that once held so much promise and provide us with so much enjoyment.

Best wishes to you all.

I will be here until the end and then longer. I know that fellow guidies CharlsWhiteFeet and Newday are also going to hang around and "see how deep the rabbit hole goes." I definitely think and have a separate post that all SWG Rangers should keep the community alive on SWGRangers so we know where everyone is going to.

I will check out MEO and most likely Star Trek Online too when they come out.

On a practical matter, for those Shadowfire Rangers, I would be glad to store any in-game items that they would like have stored in case you come back to the game. You never know and it would be better than just deleting them. If you never come back at least they found a good home.

While I'm sticking around in SWG to see the changes and play out what's paid on my account now (got a gift of the next year paid, which chould be awesome or could be pointless.. remains to be seen), I've already set myself up on the MEO forums.

Since they apparently reserved or locked variations on the primary character names, I'm sadly NOT AragornSoS for the first time in my online gaming experience. I'm over there as... Dekiion. Fitting that the outcast Ranger from SWG be my name in MEO if I ever do play there. Maybe a kind of alternate universes thing, if you will...
