If you are a Ranger who is about to quit.......PLEASE DO NOT post about giving it all up on this forum.

I for one am sick of wasting my time opening posts to read stuff like

"I grinded all the way to Master Ranger only to find I didn't like it"

for god's sake.........you don't grind ALL THE WAY THROUGH one of the toughest professions to accomplish, then say "I don't like this" you know if you don't like something before you've filled your first few exp boxes.

If you're gonna quit, then DO IT, and don't spam up our board with your "I'm leaving" posts......who cares?

If you want to post before you leave the profession, please make it something constructive like....."I think the Ranger profession could do with.........(insert topic here)"

Just my 2 cents on all this "I hate the Ranger profession" spam we keep getting on our board

Here, have this fishing pole (95). It will get better.

I do agree with the sentiment, please be constructive. You know, to build upon,to offer possible solutions... saying "this blows" is not in this subset of actions.

Even better, you can try out my old Omnibaiter (99)... not that I can tell it's any better than Fred's 95. But the name alone is worth it and it might just cheer you up!

If you can survive through camping you truly are a ranger. Enough said.

Hehe

Soz bout' the rant guys.....just don't like people flaming our profession cos'they reckon it aint' for them (even though they spent all the time to master it)

And most of em' diguise their posts as something constructive, then you open it only to get a rant about how bad the Ranger profession is and how they're quitting after only being a Master for 2 days.

The guys who are important to me are the guys still cruisin' this froum and adding constructive content. The guys who love Rangering, and are staying a Ranger up until (and long after) the improvements are made.

Rangering IS an elite profession, contrary to what many may say about it, we put tons of hard work in, and get very little in the way of reward (apart from when we are lucky enough to find a good resource shift)

I know were not meant to be one of the richer classes, and it's probably a good thing that were not, but many of the crafting professions would be done-for without us.

No offense, but rangeris pretty dang easy to get if you have a couple of friends that enjoy hunting with you. It's not anywhere near one of the toughest professions to master if you go hunting with friends.

That being said, I agree. Ranger doesn't suck, it's a lot of fun actually. My friends really enjoy my camo kits on the "advanced" worlds. The traps come in very handy (though really, do we get anything interesting in ranger trap line? no, not really.) The HTFB's are really nice out in the wild when you don't want to come into town or when you need some quick experimentation on more camo kits. Tracking has helped to find some better non-mission kills for us (once we were just wanting to see a giant kimogila, and I found too... fighting each other! woo woo!) Not to mention having crafters send tells asking if I can go harvest X resource for them.

The holo told me to do scout and ranger, and I've found something I really enjoy. I'll have to drop it for the 4th holo of course, but as soon as the grind is over, I'm picking Ranger right back up. (just gotta hoard away enough hide, bone and metal to grind through Camping a second time. joy.)

I care spoff, I care a great deal. I want to hear the name of ever single person thats fed up with the ranger class, I care that the class is so dissapointing for people that they'd give it up for another class that they probably didn't want to do because they originally wanted to be a ranger.

and although I originally wrote the post in a peak of rage and anger I had the forethough and common sence to realise that if the people who left the class put all there names in one place .. we could (as a comunity) let them know when the class was in a better state. so they could come back and enjoy the class that they wanted to x months ago.

glad to see you've started your own thread though.. keep it up .. we need more people with a love for the ranger class

im one who still loves the ranger profession, and I still hold on to the hope that the devs will put in all the changes we want in our vision (childish hope, yeah, but it keeps me from going insane ). I refer the Outdoorsman Proposal as what WILL happen to our profession, and not what MIGHT happen. I cant wait for publish 7

This community is unique in some ways in that although this profession is very weak in terms of its design and completion, people who's play style conforms to what a ranger 'should' be often stick with it and even enjoy what we have.

The 'true' rangers, if you like, are those who make do with what we've got and try to be a ranger as much as we can. Simply because the profession isnt fnished/complete isnt an excuse not to play a ranger in SWG. Just because things are developing slowely in our profession doesnt mean you cant enjoy to be a ranger.

People who want to quit, can quit and often do, those who stay either accept thing are going to change or simply love playing a ranger no matter what skills we have.

I just re-mastered ranger after giving up scout (even novice) to go hologrind...as most of you know, i came back and i did the entire camping line again. So, what has been said about camping xp and rangers being unique...i totally agree with you..
